Workshop on Opening Islamic Interior Design Study Program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta
Jakarta, June 3, 2024 - The Faculty of Adab and Humanities at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta held a workshop for the opening of the Islamic Interior Design Study Program with great enthusiasm. The event was attended by various parties, including students, lecturers, and invited guests.
This workshop presented the main speaker Dr. Tendy Yulisca Ramadin, S.Sn., M.T., an expert in the field of interior design who has contributed a lot to the development of designs that integrate Islamic values. He gave an in-depth presentation on the importance of understanding the principles of interior design from an Islamic perspective and how to apply them in a modern context.
Dr. Tendy in her presentation stated, "Interior design is not just about aesthetics, but also about how to create spaces that support the spirituality and well-being of the occupants. Islamic principles provide rich guidance to achieve this goal."
The workshop was moderated by Endi Aulia Garadian, M.Hum., who guided the discussion very well, ensuring the participants could benefit a lot from the session. He also facilitated an interactive Q&A session, allowing participants to better understand the topics discussed.
The event began with a warm welcome and direction from Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum., Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities. In his speech, Dr. Ade emphasized the importance of this study program as part of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta's efforts to continue to innovate and make a real contribution to the world of higher education. "This Islamic Interior Design Study Program is a step forward for our faculty. We are committed to providing education that not only focuses on technical expertise, but also integrates Islamic spiritual and cultural values," said Dr. Ade Abdul Hak.
The Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, MA, Ph.D., officially opened the workshop by giving an inspiring speech. He emphasized the importance of innovation in higher education and how this new study program can be a model for other universities. "The opening of the Islamic Interior Design Study Program is a concrete manifestation of UIN's commitment to continue to innovate and provide education that is relevant to the needs of the times, but still based on Islamic values," said Prof. Asep.
This workshop is expected to be a good first step for the development of the Islamic Interior Design Study Program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, as well as inspiring students to continue working and innovating in the field of design based on Islamic values.
