Workshop on Certificate of Diploma Companion: Creative Writing in the Digital Age
The Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) through the English Literature study program held a Certificate of Diploma Workshop with a topic that focused on "Creative Writing in the Digital Age." The workshop was held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the Abdul Ghani Theater Room, 5th Floor, Faculty of Adab and Humanities. Dean of FAH Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum in his speech expressed his deep hope for this event and his thanks to the Head of English Literature Department Mrs. Inayatul Chusna, M.hum. "The hope is that the speakers can provide experience and material to all students who attend this event. And hopefully students can absorb the material from the speakers well".
Meanwhile, the Head of the English Literature Study Program, Mrs. Inayatul Chusna, in her remarks expressed her gratitude to the ranks of lecturers and deans, also conveyed the discourse that literary works will be used as final assignments other than thesis.
"Creative writers when their views are underestimated are changed (change). The development of digital information also affects this creative writing."
This workshop is an event that aims to provide new knowledge and skills to participants in the field of Creative Writing. This workshop presented Sefryana Khairil, a fiction writer, copywriter, scriptwriter who has a lot of experience in this field. During the event, participants gained in-depth insights on how to become a beginner copywriter to how to write a novel.
This event also provides interactive question and answer sessions, sharing sessions, and challenges to write flash fiction, insta poet, video storytelling and others with a predetermined time. In the question and answer session one of the participants, a student of the English Literature study program asked about how to write copywriting and how to become a beginner copywriter to how to write a novel inspired by personal life, which was answered very well and also completely by the speaker. In this challenge session, there were 20 people who participated in the challenge, of the 20 people who participated, the 3 best students in writing were taken who were judged to have interesting and new stories. This gave participants the opportunity to get a deeper understanding of Creative Writing.
This workshop is expected to provide opportunities for participants to gain new knowledge and skills in the field of copywriting. With this event, it is also expected to form a young generation that is more literate about the science of writing.
