Welcoming New Students, DEMA of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities Holds a Coordination Meeting with the PBAK Committee Chairs at the Faculty and Department Levels

Tangerang Selatan, FAH News Online – In preparation for welcoming new students, the Student Executive Board (DEMA) of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities held a coordination meeting with the heads of the organizing committees for the Faculty and Department-level PBAK (Campus Life and Academic Orientation Program). The meeting was held on Tuesday (August 18, 2026), in the Dean’s Office Meeting Room of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities. The meeting was conducted to coordinate the series of PBAK activities this year.

The meeting was led directly by the Vice Dean III for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, S.Ag., M.A., Ph.D., accompanied by the Chairperson of DEMA of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Muhammad Ibnu Chajar. The meeting was attended by all heads of Study Program Student Associations (HMPS) and the heads of the Faculty and Department-level PBAK organizing committees.

In an interview, Agung Saputra, Chairperson of the 2026 PBAK Organizing Committee of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, stated that preventive measures would be taken to ensure that the issues identified during last year’s PBAK evaluation would not occur again this year.

“As the PBAK committee this year, we will take preventive measures based on the evaluation of the incidents that occurred last year. One of the cases involved a new student whose asthma relapsed after being exposed to smoke from a smoke bomb, which eventually led to a disturbance that should not have occurred. Based on this incident, we have taken preventive measures, including eliminating smoke bombs from this year’s PBAK activities,” he said.

In addition to coordinating the series of PBAK activities, the meeting was also used to discuss several challenges and evaluations from last year’s PBAK. This was emphasized by the Vice Dean III for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, S.Ag., M.A., Ph.D.

“For this year’s PBAK, there must be no physical violence against new students. Excessive activities, such as large gatherings or moving in groups, should be avoided in order to reduce fatigue among new students. Finally, this year’s PBAK activities must not continue beyond 4:00 p.m.,” he said.

With the implementation of this coordination meeting, it is hoped that this year’s PBAK will run smoothly and successfully while preventing the recurrence of issues identified during last year’s PBAK evaluation.
