Visit of Dean of FAH UIN Jakarta to Leiden University KITLV Indonesia
On Monday, August 26, 2024, the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) paid an official visit to the University of Leiden KITLV Indonesia office. The visit took place from 10.30 to 11.30 am at the KITLV office in Jakarta.
This visit was a return visit from the previous visit made by Leiden University to FAH on June 28, 2024. This visit was conducted by the Dean of FAH UIN Jakarta consisting of the Dean, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum; Vice Dean I, Dr. Ida Farida, MLIS; Vice Dean 2, Dr. Siti Amsariah, M.Ag; and Vice Dean III, Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, Ph.D. aims to continue the cooperation between FAH UIN Jakarta and Leiden University KITLV, especially in terms of joint lectures that have been held at FAH UIN Jakarta. In addition, this visit also aims to strengthen cooperation and ask for direction regarding research collaboration in various studies, especially in the scope of Islamic studies with Leiden University in The Hague, Netherlands.
The Dean's visit was welcomed by Ms. Zweta and Mr. Afwandi as representatives of the Director of the Leiden University Office in Jakarta, Marrik Bellen. Leiden University also invited the guests to use and read the books available at KITLV.
KITLV (Koninklijk Instituut voor Taal-, Land- en Volkenkunde) itself is a scientific institution founded in 1851, focusing on research in anthropology, linguistics, social science, and history of Southeast Asia, Oceania, and the Caribbean. With this visit, it is hoped that cooperation between the two institutions can be closer and provide great benefits for the development of science, especially in the field of Islamic studies.
