Ciputat, FAH Online News – A student of the Translation Studies Program at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Siti Badriyah Agustina, has successfully published an Arabic–Indonesian translation entitled The Power of Al-Qur'anic Insights (Unveiling the Secrets of the Soul, the Miracle of Language, and the Tyranny of Life). The book is an Indonesian translation of Fī al-Qaṣaṣ al-Qur'ānī by Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghani Awad Ar-Rajihi and was published by Naga Pustaka in 2026 with ISBN 978-634-7694-36-2.

Siti Badriyah, a member of the 2022 cohort of the Translation Studies Program, explained that her interest in translation began with a strong desire to produce scholarly work as a Translation Studies student. For her, the translation process became a valuable learning experience that brought together linguistic competence, translation strategies, and careful attention to understanding the context of the source text.

The 469-page publication explores the narratives of the Holy Qur'an, the linguistic miracles of the Qur'anic text, and the life lessons embedded within its stories. Siti selected the work of Prof. Abdul Ghani Awad Ar-Rajihi because of its academic significance and its relevance to contemporary society. She hopes the translated book will enable a broader audience to better understand the messages conveyed through the Qur'anic narratives in today's context.

Throughout the translation process, Siti adopted a reader-oriented approach, prioritizing naturalness and readability for Indonesian audiences while preserving the meaning of the original text. One of the greatest challenges she encountered was translating Arabic poetry, proverbs, and culturally specific expressions. To address these challenges, she conducted extensive reference searches and carefully examined the textual context before and after each passage.

"I prioritized acceptability for Indonesian readers. If I relied solely on a literal rendering of the source text, the translation would sound rigid. Therefore, I reworked many parts to make them more natural and fluent while preserving the original message," she explained.

Siti also utilized AI technology, including Gemini AI, as an initial translation aid. Nevertheless, the editing, revision, and final adaptation were carried out independently to ensure that the completed translation met the expected standards of quality and faithfully reflected the objectives of the translation project.

Throughout her journey, she received valuable support from lecturers and the academic community of the Translation Studies Program. Courses on translation strategies and translation publication provided an essential foundation for completing the project.

Looking ahead, Siti hopes to continue producing translation works and pursue a career as a certified sworn translator. She also encourages her fellow Translation Studies students to have the courage to begin creating scholarly works, believing that every published work becomes a lasting legacy that continues to benefit others.
