The Peak of the Practice of Gaining Knowledge in the Holy Month
South Tangerang, FAH News Online - The month of Ramadan is a special moment full of gifts that Muslims always look forward to. Apart from being a time for fasting, Ramadan is also a field of reward where every obligatory deed is multiplied and sunnah deeds are considered equivalent to obligatory deeds. For this reason, in interpreting this specialty, Ali Hasan Al Bahar, MA expressed his in-depth views on the latest broadcast of the Mutiara Ramadhan program, Tuesday (24/02/2026) regarding the urgency of increasing religious insight which must be pursued continuously during the fasting month.
In his presentation, Ali Hasan emphasized that of the many types of sunnah worship, studying or thalabul 'ilm occupies the highest level. He reminded that Islamic teachings greatly glorify knowledge, as evidenced by the first revelation that came down in the month of fasting, namely the command to read. He emphasized how important it is for Muslims to be knowledgeable people, students of knowledge, listeners of knowledge, or at least lovers of knowledge, and not to become the fifth group who are destroyed because they have no interest in knowledge at all.
This learning tradition also exemplifies the habit of the Prophet Muhammad SAW who regularly performed tadarus from the Koran with the Angel Gabriel every time Ramadan arrived. This tadarus activity is not just reading texts, but also as a deep effort to reflect on the meaning and holy message of the verses of the Koran. Affirming the urgency of this, Ali Hasan Al Bahar conveyed a strong message to the listeners. "The month of Ramadan is a month that really should be utilized as much as possible with as many good practices as possible and the peak of good deeds is seeking knowledge, seeking knowledge, increasing knowledge,".
In conclusion, he advises us that if a day passes without any additional knowledge being able to get closer to Allah, then that day has actually lost its blessings since sunrise. Therefore, it is very important for all of us to make Ramadan a golden momentum to increase understanding and enthusiasm for learning every day. The hope is that this scientific spirit can raise the status of the people, both in this world and in the afterlife.
