The Faculty of Adab and Humanities Promotes Internationalization Through the Socialization of Strategic Programs

South Tangerang, FAH Online News – The Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) continues to strengthen its role in supporting the university’s internationalization vision. Held in the 2nd Floor Meeting Room, FAH organized a “Socialization of the Internationalization Program” event attended by university leaders, lecturers, and administrative staff. The event took place from 08:30 to 11:30 AM (WIB), featuring keynote speaker Dr. Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Affairs.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Din Wahid emphasized the urgency of accelerating internationalization programs in alignment with the university’s strategic direction. He noted that since early 2023, the university leadership has actively established international networks with no fewer than 71 foreign universities.

"The question is, how many of these partnerships have actually been implemented? It is time we focus on tangible collaborations with real impact," stressed Dr. Din Wahid.

He encouraged faculties to identify at least two concrete international partnerships that are deliverable, whether in the form of guest lecturing, research collaborations, or manuscript projects. One highlighted example was the potential partnership with Leiden University, which has manuscript and historical projects that could be synergized with the expertise of FAH lecturers.

"Our faculty has outstanding human resources, such as Prof. Dr. Oman Fathurrahman, M.Hum with his DREAMSEA project that is internationally recognized. We also have strong networks through figures like Dr. Fu'ad Jabali, M.A., Prof. Dr. Jajat Burhanuddin, M.A., and Prof. Jajang Jahroni, M.A.,Ph.D," he added.

Dr. Din Wahid also advised the faculty to utilize existing networks to build concrete partnerships with universities across Southeast Asia, East Asia, Europe, and Australia. He requested the faculty to promptly compile a list of potential partner universities and draft collaborative proposals that could be followed up immediately.

With a spirit of collaboration, this event is expected to serve as a strong starting point for the Faculty of Adab and Humanities in supporting the university’s internationalization program in a concrete and strategic manner.

Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag., S.S., M.Hum., CIQnR, stated that the faculty is ready for campus internationalization, although some aspects still require more thorough preparation.

"Overall, all study programs at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities are ready for internationalization and to open international classes," he said.

Responding to this, the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, S.Ag., M.A., M.A., Ph.D., said that the faculty has prepared various strategies to attract international students, one of which is through International Seminars.

"The Faculty of Adab and Humanities has prepared several strategies to attract students from abroad, including hosting International Seminars. We are currently planning one with the involvement of prominent international figures. We will invite both international students and lecturers to attend and present at our seminar," he affirmed.

Various ideas and internationalization strategies were conveyed during the event in an effort to realize UIN Jakarta – especially the Faculty of Adab and Humanities – as a globally engaged university.
