The Beginning of the University Journey: New Students of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities Participate in the 2026 Introduction to Academic and Student Culture Program
South Tangerang, FAH News — Online — Carrying the theme “Smart in Technology, Wise in Ecology: Building an Ulul Albab Generation for the Civilization of the Nation,” the 2026 Introduction to Academic and Student Culture Program (PBAK) at UIN Jakarta was successfully held. Divided into two sessions, new students of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) had the opportunity to participate in the afternoon session of PBAK, which took place at the Harun Nasution Auditorium on Wednesday (August 26, 2026).
This event marked the beginning of the entire series of Introduction to Academic and Student Culture activities for all new students of UIN Jakarta before they officially enter university life.
Beginning at 10:00 a.m., more than 900 new FAH students participated in mobilization activities and a mentoring session with the FAH PBAK organizing committee at the UIN Jakarta Student Center field. The event was attended by the Vice Dean III for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, S.Ag., M.A., Ph.D.; the Chairperson of the FAH Student Representative Council (SEMA), Fazkia Cahya Azzahra; the Chairperson of the FAH Student Executive Council (DEMA), Muhammad Ibnu Chajar; and all members of the 2026 FAH PBAK organizing committee.
In an interview, the Vice Dean III for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, S.Ag., M.A., Ph.D., explained that the activity was aimed at introducing and helping new FAH students understand academic culture, as well as preparing them for university life.
“This activity is intended to introduce academic culture to new students. They are motivated and reminded to prepare themselves as they begin their university studies,” he said.
The success of the first day of PBAK was also inseparable from the preparations carried out by the FAH PBAK organizing committee in collaboration with the PBAK committees of each department. This was explained by the Chairperson of DEMA FAH, Muhammad Ibnu Chajar, during an interview.
“Among the preparations we carried out was synchronizing our understanding and coordinating the mobilization of new students with the PBAK committees of each department. We held several coordination meetings and also organized field coordination teams consisting of representatives from each department to help ensure that today’s PBAK mobilization ran smoothly,” he said.
Afterward, the new FAH students entered the Harun Nasution Auditorium to participate in the entire first-day PBAK program prepared by the UIN Jakarta PBAK organizing committee. The event concluded with an introduction to the chairpersons of the Student Associations of each study program, facilitated by the PBAK committees of each department, followed by the departure of the 2026 FAH new students.
Through the implementation of this activity, all new students are expected to become familiar with and understand academic and student culture, as well as adequately prepare themselves for their upcoming university life.
