Tarjamah FAH Study Program Students Transcend Coding Boundaries, Trained to Create Translation Applications with Vibe Coding AI
South Tangerang, FAH News Online – Tarjamah Study Program, Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) held the workshop "Vibe Coding AI: From Concept to Implementation" at the 5th Floor Theater. This event directly challenges students to become technology designers, not just users, by utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create innovation in the field of translation.
The event, which was packed with Tarjamah Study Program students, was attended by the Dean of FAH, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag, SS, M.Hum, and presented resource person Dewabrata, ST, Founder of Champion Coding.
In his speech, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag, SS, M.Hum. highlights the tough challenges faced by translators as AI technology advances. He specifically motivates participants to remain superior and adaptive.
"Along with technological developments, the challenges for translators are certainly tougher. "So, friends as individuals who have high literary arts should not be left behind and defeated by technology itself," stressed the Dean of FAH.
Dewabrata, ST, who led the Vibe Coding session, explained that students from non-engineering backgrounds, such as languages, can now create digital applications and solutions. He dismissed concerns that AI would eliminate language, instead emphasizing that language is the foundation of all civilization and technology.
"Even programming starts with words, language. "So language is the most universal thing that will never disappear of all time," said Dewabrata.
He emphasized that the danger does not lie in the loss of knowledge (language), but in the replacement of individuals who are not up-to-date and do not have the right mindset.
"Knowledge will always exist, but people can be replaced because they are not up to date. "This is what we are looking after today," he added.
Dewabrata also underscores the importance of exploratory mindset and different thinking, citing the story of Steve Jobs who had a calligraphic background, but was able to revolutionize technology. According to him, campus is a place to form a mindset and train the brain, not just look for work.
In its core session, Dewabrata demonstrated how the concept of Vibe Coding introduced by Andrej Karpathy (former AI chief at Tesla) allows students to create digital products with just everyday human language.
"Today changed a lot. Now you can program in human language. The way to do this is by sending him to the computer. Please make an application... So, with words like that, do you think someone is dizzy or not?" dewantara asked.
He gave concrete examples, particularly for students of Arabic Tarjamah, that they had a great opportunity because Arabic had very complex rules, which were often not fully understood by non-linguist programmers.
"You have the knowledge, you just don't have the idea yet. "This is what we are trying to explore today," he concluded, spurring participants to immediately adapt and use AI tools such as OpenAI and Google to produce translation innovations.
