Studying Arabic Text Studies, Tarjamah Study Program FAH UIN Jakarta Holds International Public Lectures
South Tangerang, FAH News Online - Tarjamah Study Program, Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta successfully held an international public lecture (Public Lecture) on Monday (22/12/2025). Located in the Abdul Ghani Theater Room, 5th Floor, FAH Building.
This event has an in-depth theme: "Exploring Layers of Meaning in Classical Arabic Texts: Timeless Language and Literary Criticism in Translation" by presenting a well-known expert, Dr. Hussain Ahmad Hussain Ar-Rifa'i from Zayed University, Dubai.
His presence was warmly welcomed by the faculty leadership, including the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs at FAH, Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, S.Ag., MA. (Leiden), M.A. (Duke), Ph.D. and Head of the Tarjamah Study Program, Prof. Dr. Darsita, M.Hum.. This scientific discussion was led by Muhammad Anas, Lc., MA, as moderator.
In his presentation, Dr. Hussain not only thoroughly explored the core material regarding literary criticism and translation, but also gave a message to students. He expressed his pride at seeing the enthusiasm of FAH students for Arabic. "I am very happy with this invitation and honored to be in front of Arabic language lovers. "The presence of the participants in this study shows an extraordinary spirit of literacy," said Dr. Hussain.
Furthermore, Dr. Hussain emphasized that mastery of language does not just stop at theory in the classroom. He also encouraged the Tarjamah and Arabic Literature Study Program to require the use of Arabic for at least one full day every week and also advised students to spend at least 30 minutes every day practicing speaking (muhadatsah) with friends to hone their linguistic skills.
This activity, which was enthusiastically attended by Tarjamah Study Program students, closed with an interactive question and answer session. Through this public lecture, it is hoped that students will be able to dissect classical Arabic texts with a broader perspective and more precise translation competencies.
