Jakarta, October 1, 2024 - Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a Studium Generale event entitled “From Classroom to Career: Mapping Your Professional Journey” on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. The event, which took place in the Harun Nasution Auditorium, was attended by around 750 new students of the class of 2024 and the lecturers of the first semester courses.

The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities. In his remarks, the Dean conveyed the importance of this event as a means for new students to get to know the academic world more closely while preparing themselves to face the challenges of the world of work after graduation. The Dean hoped that this event could provide students with a comprehensive insight in connecting classroom learning with future professional careers.

The main speaker at this event was Dr. H. Mustadin Taggala, M.Si, who provided material on the importance of mapping professional paths early on. According to him, students must have a clear vision from the start in order to utilize academic experience to build a solid career. In his presentation, Dr. Mustadin emphasized the close connection between the knowledge gained in college and the skills needed in the real world.

The event was moderated by M. Agus Suriadi, M.Hum, who successfully directed the discussion dynamically. The students enthusiastically participated in the question and answer session, digging deeper into successful strategies in preparing for a career in a challenging modern era. Another resource person, Mahbubi S. Hum., was also present to deliver the main material which provided guidance on campus life, curriculum, and tips for success during the lecture period.

The interactive discussion session held after the material presentation was an important moment for new students to ask the speakers directly about various topics related to academic and career preparation. This discussion provided a space for students to further understand the relationship between academic studies and future professional achievements.

In the event documentation, there are precious moments such as a group photo session between lecturers, students, and speakers, as well as the awarding of certificates to the speakers by faculty representatives.

“With this Studium Generale, we hope that new students can be better prepared to face the challenging world of lectures, and be able to build a strong academic network,” said the Dean of FAH in his speech.

The Studium Generale event is one of the important agendas that shows the commitment of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities in providing the best academic experience to new students.
