South Tangerang, FAH Online News — Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta successfully implemented the 2025 Socialization and Promotion (SOSPROM) activities and established strategic collaborations with various educational institutions, including madrasas and Islamic boarding schools in West Sumatra. This Sosprom activity aims to introduce undergraduate study programs (S1) as well as offer General Service Agency (BLU) scholarships to students/students who excel to continue their studies in the study programs at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Jakarta.
The Sosprom activity, which will take place on 15-17 October 2025, carries the theme “Develop Humanist Potential and Spirit: Achieve the Future with FAH UIN Jakarta”, as a form of FAH's commitment to preparing a generation of humanist intellectuals and excelling in the fields of science and manners and humanities. Several educational institutions that have been used as objects of socialization and promotion this year are Madrasah Aliyah Sumatra Thawalib Parabek, Madrasah Aliyah Putri Diniyah Padang Panjang, and the Kauman Padang Panjang Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School. The three madrasas chosen as locations for this year's Sosprom activities are among the oldest educational institutions in West Sumatra and already have alumni spread across various regions in the country.
On the first day, the FAH hospital team started their activities with a visit to Madrasah Aliyah Sumatra Thawalib Parabek, Bukit Tinggi. The group was warmly welcomed by the Head of the Madrasah, Nofritri, S.Ag., M.Pd, along with the ranks of the teacher council and class 12 students. Madrasah Sumatra Thawalib is an educational institution founded by Sheikh Ibrahim Musa at Surau Parabek in 1910. As written in Indonesian history, Sumatra Thawalib contributed greatly to the development of modern Islam in West Suamtera at the beginning of the 20th century.
The next day, activities continued with a visit to Madrasah Diniyah Putri Padang Panjang. The group was warmly received by the entire leadership and board of madrasa teachers, namely Mrs. Yusneli, M.Pd. This legendary school was founded by Rahmah el-Yunusiah in 1923. She was an educator and figure in the women's movement in West Sumatra who received the title of sheikhah from Al-Azhar University in Cairo in 1957 because of her enormous contribution as a pioneer of education for women, and inspired the establishment of a special faculty for women at Al-Azhar University in Cairo. The FAH sosprom group was treated to an interesting performance by female students who were members of the Diniyah Putri Padang Panjang school extracurricular team.
The last location for sosprom activities was the Kauman Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School, Padang Panjang. The presence of the group was warmly welcomed by the head of the madrasa, namely Dr. Derliana, MA along with the teacher's council, and the students. This Islamic boarding school, also known as Kuliyyatul Mubalighien Muhammadiyah (KMM), was founded on April 5 1928 by Buya Hamka, who is known as a historian, writer, politician and preacher and educator whose name is very legendary not only in Indonesia but also internationally. Buya Hamka's big name is what makes this educational institution, which was originally called Tabligh School, much sought after by students from various regions of the country and even abroad such as Thailand, Malaysia, and so on.
Apart from being educational institutions that already have big names, these institutions are also seen as potential partners in developing educational cooperation and talent scouting programs. In each socialization session, the FAH team introduces five superior undergraduate study programs, consisting of, Islamic History and Civilization (SPI), English Literature (SASING), Library Science (IP), Arabic Language and Literature (BSA), Tarjamah which is ready to produce graduates who are competent in the fields of language, information literacy, history and Islamic thought.
Dr. Siti Amsariah, M.Ag, as Deputy Dean II of FAH UIN Jakarta, directly led a group consisting of six people, including the chairman and secretary of the study program. Also present at this activity: Dr. Zakiya Darojat, MA. (SPI Head of Study Program), Inayatul Chusna, M.Hum. (SASING Head of Study Program) M. Agus Suriadi, M.Hum, (SASING Study Program Secretary), Siti Maryam, S.Ag., M.Hum. (IP Head of Study Program), Mugy Nugraha, M.Si. (Sekprodi BSA), Zacky Mubarrok, MA (Sekprodi Tarjamah)
In his speech, Dr. Siti Amsariah, M.Ag explained various new student admission routes at FAH UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, including the Talent Scouting route and institutional cooperation. The Talent Scouting pathway specifically targets prospective students who have achievements in the fields of academics, arts, sports, as well as language and translation skills.
“Through collaboration with educational institutions such as madrasas and Islamic boarding schools, we want to attract the best students to continue their studies at FAH UIN Jakarta. We are also preparing a scholarship program to support them optimally,” he said
The points in the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) text that are being explored include the recruitment of outstanding students and talented students. As a form of commitment and binding cooperation between the two parties, this activity was marked by the official signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) by each head of the madrasa to sign this PKS as the first step in building closer synergy between FAH UIN Jakarta and partner educational institutions.
This sosprom activity received an extraordinary response from madrasa heads, teachers and students. They are active in question and answer sessions and show high enthusiasm for the study programs offered.
Through the implementation of the 2025 sosprom, the Faculty of Adab and Humanities at UIN Jakarta hopes to attract more prospective students who are qualified, superior and have a humanist spirit. This activity is also part of FAH UIN Jakarta's long-term commitment to expanding the educational cooperation network in various regions in Indonesia, especially from Islamic boarding schools and madrasas.
