Socialization of Increasing Accuracy of Lecturer Data FAH UIN Jakarta through Matching and Updating Profiles on SISTER Application
South Tangerang, August 7, 2024- The Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Jakarta held a socialization of matching lecturer data on the Integrated Resource Information System (SISTER). SISTER is an important platform that stores lecturer data throughout Indonesia. The accuracy and completeness of lecturer data in SISTER is crucial for various purposes, such as the distribution of allowances, lecturer development programs, and higher education policy making. The socialization was held hybridly through Zoom (online) and in the 2nd Floor Conference Room of FAH UIN Jakarta (offline). The leaders, lecturers, all teaching staff, and operators of FAH UIN Jakarta attended this socialization.
Socialization activities run systematically, starting from the explanation of the SISTER application, types of data matching, delivery of lecturer data synchronization constraints, to the delivery of the best solution for synchronizing lecturer data at FAH UIN Jakarta. Realizing the importance of this, the Directorate General of Higher Education (Dikti) launched the application of matching and updating lecturer data through SISTER. Furthermore, this application is massively distributed and implemented in each State Universities (PTN) and Private Universities (PTS) in Indonesia.
The SISTER socialization aims to increase the awareness of lecturers and universities regarding the importance of data accuracy in SISTER. In addition, this socialization is also a forum for sharing information and technical guidance related to the process of matching and updating lecturer data. Lecturers are required to update their information on SISTER, such as education history, research, community service, and achievements. One of the focuses of this socialization is a discussion of the obstacles faced in integrating lecturer data. Some of these obstacles are caused by lecturers who have not updated their data in the SISTER application, forgotten passwords, and so on. In fact, lecturers should routinely update their profiles and data on all menus in the SISTER system. This will make it easier for lecturers to advance in rank or position. With an updated profile, lecturers not only get proper recognition for their achievements, but the data is also useful for the purposes of performance appraisal, promotion, and mapping of lecturers with specific expertise.
Through this data integration, lecturer data such as NIK (Population Identification Number), full name, date of birth, and place of birth can be verified for accuracy. Accurate data is very important to avoid various obstacles, such as delays in the distribution of allowances or difficulties for lecturers in participating in development programs that require verification of personal data. If not regularly updated, the lecturer's data will appear invalid in the PDDikti main system. So, lecturers must ensure the suitability of lecturer data in SISTER with data recorded in the Higher Education Database (PDDikti).
Socialization efforts to match and update lecturer data in SISTER are important steps to improve the quality of lecturer data nationally. With accurate and up-to-date data, SISTER can become a more reliable platform for managing lecturer resources in Indonesian universities, one of which is at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta. To optimize it, it is necessary to have easy access and a user-friendly support system so that lecturers can independently update their data in SISTER.
