South Tangerang, FAH Online News – ISEATRAC delegates visited several prominent landmarks in the heart of Indonesia's capital, Jakarta. On Thursday, July 23, 2026, the delegation departed from the Adia accommodation building and headed to the Istiqlal Mosque and the Jakarta Cathedral. The visit was organized to provide international student delegates from the Philippines and Japan with a firsthand experience of Indonesia's remarkable harmony between religion and culture.

This activity was part of the ISEATRAC program series initiated by the SEASREP Foundation in collaboration with the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. The program brings together international students from across Asia to study Islamic culture in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

In an interview session, Komaruddin Nursi, representing the SEASREP Foundation, explained that the ISEATRAC program aims to explore Islam in Southeast Asia, particularly in Indonesia, by engaging international students from various Asian countries.

"This program aims to introduce and examine the Islamic world in Indonesia, from the arrival of Islam to its growth and integration into Indonesian society, by involving international students from across Asia," he stated.

Upon arriving at the Istiqlal Mosque, the entire ISEATRAC delegation was warmly welcomed by the mosque management. The delegates were guided on a tour of the mosque, beginning with the courtyard, continuing to the main prayer hall, and concluding with a walk through the Tunnel of Friendship connecting the mosque to the Jakarta Cathedral. In addition, the delegates had the opportunity to observe and try playing the traditional bedug (large ceremonial drum) and kentongan (wooden slit drum), both of which are located within the mosque complex.

After passing through the Tunnel of Friendship, the delegates continued their visit to the Jakarta Cathedral, where they toured the cathedral's museum and worship area under the guidance of the cathedral management.

The city tour continued with a visit to the National Museum of Indonesia, where the delegates explored Indonesia's rich cultural heritage. The day's itinerary concluded with a visit to the National Library of Indonesia, located in the center of Jakarta.
