Second Day of The 3rd International Conference on Islamic Civilization 2024 (Parallel Session INSAN 2024)
Tuesday, August 6, 2024. The International Conference Islamic Civilization III 2024 was held for three days at the Santika Premiere Hotel, Bintaro, Banten, Indonesia. It aims to explore the intersection of Islam, culture, and democracy in Southeast Asia.
On the second day of the seminar, a parallel session was held, characterized by paper presentations on various topics. This presentation was carried out in two sessions, namely online through Zoom Meeting and offline in the Raflesia room on the 5th floor of the Santika Premiere Bintaro Hotel.
The parallel sessions, both online and offline, started from 08.30 to 18.00 WIB. The presentations covered various themes of offline parallel sessions, namely Islam, textual tradition and the ideas of religious pluralism; ulama, intellectual networks and religious authority; civil society and social movements; GLAM (Gallery, Library, archives and Museums); Economy, Science and Environment; Lingustic; History; Literature; Cultural studies. Equipped with an online parallel session with a collection of papers on the themes of GLAM; Islamic law; and Islam, textual tradition and the ideas of religious pluralism.
The presenters who presented their papers came from various universities and institutions in Indonesia and allied countries, including UIN Jakarta, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) Brunei Darussalam, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, International Islamic University of Indonesia, Al-Amien Prenduan University Indonesia, Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan, UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Universitas PBB Sumenep Madura, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, STAI Sunan Pandanaran Yogyakarta, Georg August-University Gottingen Germany, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara, Universitas Padjajaran, University Sains Malaysia, Institut Islam Hadhari UKM, UIN Raden Intan Lampung, STAIN Majene, UGM, UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, STAI AL-Yasini Pasuruan, IAIN Sorong, Bahari Museum, and BRIN.
The diversity of presenter affiliations and papers presented is expected to contribute to the development of research and knowledge for the advancement of Islam Nusantara in various fields such as education, social, political, economic, and cultural. So that Islam Nusantara as a Cultural Legacy for Democracy in Southeast Asia can be realized.
In this seminar, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, UIN Jakarta invites professors, researchers and people who are interested in the issue of Islamic civilization to actively participate in this conference through research presentations to enrich the results of the conference. Cooperation between Islamic universities in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam is expected to create a glorious Islamic civilization.
