Remembering the FAH Pioneer Figure, the UIN Jakarta Academic Community Holds a Virtual Tahlilan for the Late Prof. Dr. Hj. Nabilah Lubis, Lc., MA
South Tangerang, FAH News Online - Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a virtual joint prayer and tahlilan event for the late Prof. Dr. Hj. Nabilah Lubis, Lc., MA. The condolence event which was held with great solemnity on Sunday night (28/2/26) was hosted by M. Husni T, MA, and begins with the reading of Surah Yasin and tahlil led directly by Zacky Mubarok MA. This activity was attended by the Chancellor of UIN Jakarta, the leadership of the faculty deanery, professors, lecturers, students, alumni, and representatives of the deceased's extended family. The implementation of this joint prayer is a form of final respect as well as a form of deep condolence from all elements of the academic community regarding the passing of one of the important figures who served as Dean of FAH from 1994 to 1998.
Chancellor of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, Ph.D., also expressed his deep condolences and recalled the high dedication of the deceased as the main role model for the entire academic community. Continuing this statement, Dean of FAH UIN Jakarta, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum., emphasized that Prof. Nabilah was not just an ordinary educator, but a pioneering figure in the progress of talented faculties. He is especially remembered as a pioneering figure who laid the foundation of the UIN Jakarta Main Library from zero until it developed into a superior reference facility at the national level. Apart from that, the generosity of the deceased is always manifested in the form of providing educational scholarship assistance for advanced students within the faculty.
The activity continued with the submission of the deceased's track record from a number of colleagues, including Prof. Dr. Suparta and Prof. Dr. Masykuri Abdillah. Both of them alternately highlight the extraordinary contribution of the deceased in developing knowledge in the fields of Arabic philology and literature in Indonesia. Representing the family, Mrs. Sri Ilham Lubis and Prof. Dr. Amany Lubis, who provided direct information from Cairo, Egypt, told the chronology of their mother's departure. The deceased is known to have died at 03.30 Cairo time after previously being treated intensively in hospital due to a stroke. The family asked for blessings so that the process of returning the body to Indonesia would proceed without obstacles so that the deceased could be buried in Ciseeng.
This series of tahlilan and joint prayer events closed with a prayer request, hoping that all mistakes will be forgiven for the deceased, all his deeds of worship will be accepted, and placed in the noblest level in the sight of Allah SWT. This virtual meeting is an opportunity to offer prayers, as well as a collective means to commemorate the traces of struggle and Prof.'s exemplary values. Nabilah Lubis is very worthy of being continued by the nation's next generation.
