Organization Leadership Training: Strengthening Organizational Management and Leadership through HMPS SPI Work Program

South Tangerang, FAH Online News – The Student Association of the History and Islamic Civilization Study Program (HMPS SPI), Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, successfully organized the Organization Leadership Training with the theme “Organizational Management and Leadership” on Saturday (June 6, 2026). Held at Al-Insaniyat Mosque, FAH, the event aimed to provide SPI students with knowledge and understanding of organizational management and leadership.

As one of HMPS SPI’s annual work programs, the event was attended by HMPS SPI Chairman Thoriq Aziz Dawasla, Vice Chairman Muhammad Irfan Fadillah, members of the Executive Board, HMPS SPI members, and students of the History and Islamic Civilization Study Program.

In his opening remarks, Thoriq Aziz Dawasla stated that the activity served as a platform for SPI students to learn and gain a deeper understanding of organizational life through the experiences and insights shared by the invited speakers.

“As the management of HMPS SPI, we hope that the speakers, who are alumni of the same study program, can provide valuable perspectives on organizational life. With a shared academic background, we believe SPI students will be able to better understand and absorb the materials presented,” he said.

Similarly, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Afif Ramadhan, expressed his hope that the event would provide participants with new knowledge and perspectives regarding organizational management and leadership.

“This event features experienced and inspiring speakers. Therefore, we hope that all SPI students in attendance can gain as much knowledge and insight as possible from the materials presented,” he remarked.

The first session focused on organizational management and leadership. The speaker, Fathzry, S.Hum., M.Hum., explained that there are three fundamental pillars that every individual should possess in organizational activities: critical thinking, communication, and character.

According to him, critical thinking is essential because organizational members are often required to make decisions quickly and accurately. A critical mindset enables individuals to analyze problems effectively and formulate appropriate solutions.

He further emphasized that communication plays a crucial role in building a healthy organization. Harmonious relationships between leaders and members can only be achieved through effective communication, openness, and the willingness to set aside personal ego for the collective good.

Fathzry also highlighted the importance of character and integrity as the foundation of organizational development. He noted that an organization’s progress is determined not only by capable leaders but also by the integrity demonstrated by all its members.

“An organization can grow when every member possesses strong integrity. Without integrity, it will be difficult for an organization to progress, innovate, and achieve its goals,” he explained.

As a training-oriented program, the event concluded with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) session. During this session, participants were invited to discuss and apply the concepts delivered by the speakers through case studies and group discussions.

Through this activity, HMPS SPI hopes that the Organization Leadership Training will become an initial step for History and Islamic Civilization students in understanding organizational dynamics, developing leadership capacity, and building character that enables them to contribute positively both on campus and in society.
