The material presented by Ahmad Fauzi Ilyas, LC, M.S.I discussed Syaikh Ahmad Khatib Minangkabau, a prominent Indonesian scholar who lived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The webinar revisited his thought, particularly in relation to Islamic reformism, the contributions of Syaikh Ahmad Khatib, the title of Syaikh Ahmad Khatib, and the relationship with Al-Manar. He said, "There are some writings that claim Shaykh Ahmad Khatib was a reformer because of his association with the founder of Al-Manar magazine in Egypt." However, he rebutted this by stating, "In my analysis, there is no source of information that Shaykh Ahmad Khatib was ever associated with the founder of Al-Manar magazine."
