Tangerang Selatan, FAH Online News — The Student Association of Library and Information Science Study Program (HMPS IP), Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta, successfully held the “Belajar Asik Bareng-Bareng (BABE)” event on Wednesday (17/06/2026). Taking place within the Faculty of Adab and Humanities environment, this activity served as an educational space for students to enhance their academic skills, particularly in scientific writing.

The series of events began with participant registration and was officially opened by Nayla Putri Andriyani as the Master of Ceremony (MC). This year’s BABE workshop carried a highly relevant theme for students’ academic needs, namely: “Improve Your Skills, Master Your References: Learning Zotero for Better Academic Writing.”

The Head of the Committee, Rihadatul Aisy Avicenna, in her remarks expressed sincere gratitude to all invited guests, faculty and study program leaders, and participants who took the time to attend. She also appreciated the hard work of the organizing committee in making the event a success. Rihadatul hoped that the BABE program would become a fun and meaningful space for learning and sharing knowledge, providing real benefits both for individuals and the surrounding academic community.

In line with this, the Head of HMPS IP for the 2026/2027 period, Ahmad Yasik Hayes, explained that the workshop was a valuable opportunity for students to learn the Zotero application. He emphasized that mastering reference management tools such as Zotero would greatly assist students in completing academic assignments, from writing papers to preparing theses, in a more structured way while also avoiding plagiarism.

Entering the main agenda, the academic workshop session was guided by Aditya Pangruwating Dhiyu as the moderator. Before the material presentation began, participants first took a pre-test session to measure their initial understanding of reference management applications.

The main material session was delivered by Fadhilatul Hamdani, M.Hum. As the speaker, he thoroughly and interactively explained the installation process, reference database management, and automatic citation techniques using Zotero in academic writing. After the material session ended, participants were directed to complete a post-test to evaluate their improved understanding.

The Belajar Asik Bareng-Bareng (BABE) event concluded with a closing session led by the MC and a documentation session involving the speaker, committee, and all participants. Through careful planning, HMPS IP successfully equipped students with strategic skills to support the quality of their academic performance in the future.
