LOs of FAH UIN Jakarta’s Qur’anic Dauroh Officially Inaugurated, Set to Encourage Qur’an Reading Among New Students

Main Meeting Room, FAH News Online – The Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a Qur’anic culture on campus by strengthening the role of the Qur’anic Dauroh Autonomous Organization (LO). This initiative was carried out through a briefing session, alignment of perspectives, and the inauguration of the Qur’anic Dauroh LO management team on Wednesday (September 2, 2026), at the Main Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of FAH UIN Jakarta.

The activity was part of the preparations for the Qur’an Reading Program for New Students of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. The event was attended by Dean of FAH Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag., S.S., M.Hum.; Vice Dean III Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, M.A., M.A., Ph.D.; and Qur’anic Dauroh LO advisors Dr. Nurul Aini, M.Pd., and Sukasih Nur, S.Sos.I., M.I.Kom. Through this activity, the LO DQ administrators and members received guidance aimed at establishing a shared understanding, strengthening coordination, and preparing them to assist new students in learning to read the Qur’an.

The activity carried the theme “Strengthening Team Synergy of the Qur’anic Dauroh LO through Briefing and Alignment of Perspectives on Qur’an Reading for New Students.” The theme served as the foundation for ensuring a unified approach among all team members so that the Qur’an Reading Program could be implemented in a structured, effective manner and in accordance with the needs of new students.

In his remarks, Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag., S.S., M.Hum., stated that the Qur’anic Dauroh LO should not be viewed merely as a technical implementation team, but also as having a strategic role in promoting a culture of reading, studying, and practicing the teachings of the Qur’an within the FAH community. Therefore, every LO member is expected to maintain a strong commitment to continuous learning, share the knowledge they possess, and apply Qur’anic values in their daily lives.

Meanwhile, Vice Dean III of FAH, Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, M.A., M.A., Ph.D., emphasized that involvement in the Qur’anic Dauroh LO provides an opportunity to make a tangible contribution to others. According to him, this spirit is consistent with the principle that the best of people are those who bring the greatest benefit to others, particularly when that benefit is realized through learning and teaching the Qur’an.

“Those who provide the greatest benefit are those who teach the Qur’an and put its teachings into practice. Therefore, serving as a member of the Qur’anic Dauroh LO is not merely about carrying out a task; it is also part of an effort to nurture a generation of students who maintain a close relationship with the Qur’an,” Prof. Usep conveyed during the event.

Following the briefing and alignment session, the activity continued with a technical meeting involving the advisors and members of the Qur’anic Dauroh LO. The discussion focused on the mechanism for implementing Qur’an reading guidance for new students, including an initial assessment of their abilities. To determine each student’s level of proficiency, an initial Qur’an reading assessment will be conducted. The results will then serve as the basis for placing students into appropriate learning groups or levels, allowing the mentoring process to be tailored to their individual abilities.

Through the strengthening of the Qur’anic Dauroh LO, FAH UIN Jakarta hopes that the Qur’an Reading Program for new students will go beyond merely improving their reading skills. It is also expected to serve as an initial gateway for fostering students’ love for the Qur’an and encouraging them to apply its values in their academic and social lives.

With the spirit of learning, teaching, and practicing the Qur’an, the Qur’anic Dauroh LO is expected to serve as both a role model and a driving force in creating an increasingly religious, cultured, and socially beneficial academic environment at FAH.
