Library and Information Science Study Program Holds RPS Development Workshop for Odd Semester 2025–2026

Tangerang Selatan, FAH Online News – The Library and Information Science Study Program, Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, held a Workshop on the Development of the Semester Learning Plan (RPS) for the Odd Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year on Monday, August 14, 2025, at the 2nd Floor Meeting Room of the FAH Building. The event was attended by the Dean of FAH, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag., SS, M.Hum., CIQnR, Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ida Farida, M.L.I.S., and the faculty members of the Library and Information Science Study Program.

In the main session, Library and Information Science lecturer Riyan Adi Putra, M.Hum., presented the RPS draft as discussion material with fellow lecturers in the program. His presentation covered assessment techniques, the types of sub-Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK) to be achieved—affective, cognitive, and psychomotor—as well as the mechanism for formulating achievement indicators. He also emphasized the importance of integrating teaching methods with assessment methods, such as portfolio evaluation based on the number of published articles, and ensuring that graduates acquire the necessary skills for their future careers.

The discussion was interactive, involving both lecturers and the faculty leadership. Vice Dean I highlighted common issues in assessing student work, such as the tendency to use bullet points in essay writing, the prevalence of copy-paste practices in papers, and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which can affect the similarity score of assignments. In response, Riyan Adi Putra recommended establishing clear assessment indicators, including guidelines on AI usage to maintain the quality of learning.

The workshop also addressed the allocation of study hours, noting that ideally, one credit hour (SKS) is equivalent to 45 hours per semester, or 170 minutes per week. At UIN, face-to-face learning still lasts 50 minutes per meeting, with the remaining time intended for independent student activities such as reading books or other self-directed learning tasks.

Running from 09.00 to 11.30 WIB, this workshop is expected to serve as a strategic guideline for the Library and Information Science Study Program in implementing teaching and learning activities for the upcoming academic year.
