Levels of People Who Fast
South Tangerang, FAH News Online- enters the middle 10 days of the month of Ramadan, the Mutiara Ramadhan program (VOLUME 2) held by the Faculty of Adab and Humanities with Mr. Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, S.Ag., MA. (Leiden), MA (Duke), Ph.D deputy dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, decorate the atmosphere of waiting to break the fast in the holy month of Ramadan by presenting a study theme “ 3 Levels of People Who Fast “ as a spiritual provision for the entire Academic community of the Faculty of Humanities Adab UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and all Muslims who are fasting during Ramadan. In this study he quoted from the book Durratun Nasihin, the work of Sheikh Usman bin Hasan bin Ahmad Asy-syakiri Al-Khubawi, a scholar and commentator who wrote many yellow books and was often taught in Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia.
He explained “ in the book there are 3 levels of people who fast first, the fast of ordinary people, namely guarding the stomach and guarding the genitals from carrying out the second lust, the fast of special people, namely the fast of pious people by protecting all parts of the body from sins. This fast cannot be carried out except by carrying out the first 5 things, maintaining the view of everything that is considered despicable according to the second Shari'a, guarding the tongue from gossip, gossiping, lying, vilifying each other and from the third perjury, guarding our ears from every thing that is makhruh/hated fourth, protecting all parts of our body from everything that is hated and protecting our stomach from things that are subhat halal/it is haram when breaking the fifth fast, don't increase your food when breaking the fast with things that fill his stomach. third, fasting for special/special people, namely that his heart fasts from low desires, from thoughts that are only worldly and he protects himself and his heart from other than Allah SWT perfectly”. He said in the study.
At the end of the study he advised “ in essence, the most special fast is to face our hearts perfectly to Allah SWT and not turn our hearts away from it”. Said Mr. Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, S.Ag., MA (Leiden), MA. (Duke), Ph.D in closing his study.
