Introduction to Academic Culture: The Early Foundation for Achievement on Campus

FAH UIN Jakarta - Tangerang Selatan | Introduction to academic and student culture in FAH UIN Jakarta or PBAK has a theme “Caring for Culture, Creative History, and Harmony in Diversity” took place on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Wisma Syahida Inn Building, Campus 2 UIN Jakarta. This is an orientation activity usually conducted by universities in Indonesia to introduce new students to campus life, academic rules, and various aspects of student affairs. This activity aims to introduce academic culture and student life on campus. PBAK event is not just an orientation event for new students, but also a means to instill cultural, academic, and togetherness values.

Muhammad Mulky Al Haramein, Chairman of DEMA FAH, emphasized the importance of the PBAK event in introducing campus academic culture to new students. “Through PBAK, we can get to know the diversity of students at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, as well as get to know campus elements such as the dean, caprodi, and vice dean,” said Mulky.

PBAK FAH 2024 presented various speakers who are competent in their fields, such as Jazilul Fawaid, Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI, who discussed culture, and Ibnu Kharis, manager of Bincang Syari'ah, who talked about religious moderation.

In addition, this event also presented Fayya Ella Muhammad, a content creator and founder of Ngajikoe, who reviewed da'wah in digital media, and Moh. Nur Anshori, staff of PT Halal Digital International, who discussed professionalism. The Dean of FAH, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum also gave insight into the faculty to the new students.

One of the new students from the Department of Islamic History and Civilization, Dhiya, shared her impressions about this PBAK event. “In my opinion, the place is okay and the material presented is also good. I also really appreciate the committee's attention, especially in terms of facilities such as introduction to the toilet and attention to students who are unwell,” said Dhiya. “We also had congregational prayers, usually at events like this students are released and told to go to the mosque to pray individually but here we pray in congregation,” he added.

With the end of the PBAK FAH 2024 event, it is hoped that new students can be better prepared to enter the academic world with a deeper understanding of campus culture and the values carried by the Faculty of Adab and Humanities UIN Jakarta.
