Increasing Student Competency, HMPS Library Science FAH Holds JIPERS SERVING Debriefing 2026
South Tangerang, FAH News Online - The Library Science Study Program Student Association (HMPS) Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta successfully held the Offline Debriefing agenda "JIPERS SERVES 2026" on Thursday, (08/01/2026). The activity, which took place in the Abdul Ghani Theater Room, 5th Floor of the FAH Building, was part of a series of preparations for student service in community development.
This event has the theme: "Building Competence Through Service: Preparing to Become Competitive and Highly Valued Professionals". This activity was attended directly by the Dean of FAH, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag., SS, M.Hum., CIQnR, who in his speech emphasized the importance of maintaining the governance and quality of the JIPERS program as one of the most popular programs. He advised students to use this activity as a means of warming up before entering the real world of work and the MBKM program.
"It is very necessary to instill competence from now on for the future. "Apart from mastering technology, the most important thing is to protect the spirit, namely morals and behavior when in an external agency because you bring the good name of the faculty," stressed Dr. Ade Abdul Hak.
This scientific discussion and briefing is divided into three main sessions featuring experts in the field:
The first session, Museum Materials, was delivered by Lili Sudria Wenny, M.Hum., who explained the importance of learning from history through museum collections. "The museum collects mostly objects from the past. "But from there, we can learn a lot about the history of life while working from applying the knowledge we gain," explained Lili in her presentation.
The second session, Archival Materials, filled with Hikmah Irfaniah, M.Hum., and Egi Al Maroghi, S.IP., provided motivation regarding self-development. He emphasized that this service program is a golden momentum for students. "By participating in JIPERS SERVE 2026, you can improve your competency by starting to collect skill sets from a librarian," he concluded.
The final session, Library Materials, presented Nurul Hayati, M.Hum., and Ilyas Fadhilah, S.IP., the material focused on service management. "So in managing a library, not just one person works. "But, we must coordinate with all work units in providing the best service for visitors," explained the presenter explaining the importance of teamwork.
The activity, which was attended by students from the class of 2022-2025, was interactive with a question and answer session at the end of each material session. Through JIPERS MENGABDI 2026, students are expected to be able to improve soft skills and hard skills as well as build professional relationships with various government and private agencies.
This series of services is planned to be held from January 12 to February 13 2026 at each placement agency.
