HMPS English Literature FAH UIN Jakarta Holds Work Meeting: Praxis in Motion, From Vision to Real Action

South Tangerang, FAH Online News — The Student Association of the English Literature Study Program (HMPS), Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, organized its Work Meeting (Raker) for the 2026–2027 administration period on Thursday (April 16, 2026) at Prof. Abdul Gani Theater, 5th Floor, FAH. The event carried the theme “Praxis in Motion: From Vision to Real Action” as the foundation for formulating work programs that are concrete, relevant, and impactful.

The meeting began with remarks from the Chairperson of HMPS English Literature 2026–2027, Anya Cahya Kirani, who emphasized that the work meeting is not merely a formal organizational agenda, but a strategic forum for developing ideas and carefully designing work programs.

She encouraged all members to actively share ideas, suggestions, and constructive criticism to produce realistic and well-targeted programs.

“Organizational success is not achieved by one individual, but through collective effort. This work meeting is an opportunity to unify our vision and ensure that the programs we design are truly relevant,” she stated.

The next remarks were delivered by the Secretary of the English Literature Study Program, Dr. Agus Suriadi, S.Pd., M.Hum., who described the work meeting as a historic moment in the journey of student organizations. He emphasized the importance of measurable planning and proper documentation as part of organizational sustainability.

According to him, organizational experience is not only about meeting dynamics, but also about solving real-life problems.

“We live in reality—problems are inevitable. What matters most is not eliminating them, but how we solve them,” he said.

He also reminded that the opportunity to engage in organizational activities is a valuable privilege not granted to all students.

The Head of the English Literature Study Program, Inayatul Chusna, M.Hum., stated that HMPS members are selected individuals who have greater opportunities to grow. She expressed hope that synergy between HMPS, the study program, and the faculty will continue to be strengthened.

She added that discussions with lecturers and the study program are always open to support broader and more impactful work programs.

“Everything we do is for collective progress. HMPS should not operate independently, but in alignment with the study program and faculty,” she noted.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FAH, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag., S.S., M.Hum., emphasized the importance of organizational experience as preparation for the professional world. He stated that involvement in organizations helps develop managerial skills, dedication, and leadership that are not always obtained in the classroom.

“I prefer students with strong academic performance who are active in organizations over those who focus solely on academics without organizational experience, because that is where real management skills are formed,” he explained.

He also highlighted the importance of strong coordination in every activity to ensure that programs run optimally and achieve maximum participation.

After the remarks, the event continued with Plenary Session I led by the temporary presidium, followed by Plenary Sessions II and III led by the permanent presidium. During these sessions, members discussed, formulated, and refined the HMPS English Literature work programs for the upcoming period.

The work meeting concluded with the official ratification of the work programs as the final outcome of the entire process. Through this activity, HMPS English Literature is expected to implement programs that are not only visionary but also practical and impactful for students and the academic environment.
