Pasuruan, FAH Online News – The Translation Studies Program of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, continues to expand its outreach to prospective students through promotional and academic information sessions. This latest outreach was held at MA Al Fauzani, Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Pasuruan, on 30 July 2026, where the delegation was warmly received by the Head of the Madrasah, Ustadz Mas'ud. The event aimed to introduce the Translation Studies Program while providing information on higher education opportunities, scholarships, and career prospects for future graduates.

The FAH UIN Jakarta delegation was led by Dr. Siti Amsariah, M.Ag., Vice Dean for General Administration, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Darsita Suparno, M.Hum., Head of the Translation Studies Program, M. Zacky Mubarak, M.A., Secretary of the Program, and Dr. Nurul Aini, M.Pd., as a faculty member. The delegation received a warm welcome from the school administration, which expressed its hope that the event would broaden students' perspectives on higher education and encourage them to pursue their studies at UIN Jakarta.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Siti Amsariah introduced the outreach team and presented an overview of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities at UIN Jakarta. She also explained the various scholarship schemes available to prospective students. To create an engaging atmosphere, the session featured a quiz in which students were invited to continue nadhom (classical Arabic didactic verses), an activity that generated enthusiastic participation. She emphasized that financial limitations should never become an obstacle to pursuing higher education, as UIN Jakarta offers a variety of scholarships for outstanding students. She further noted that students from MA Al Fauzani with a background in Qur'an memorization (tahfiz) have the opportunity to apply for scholarship programs available at UIN Jakarta.

In the following session, M. Zacky Mubarak, M.A., Secretary of the Translation Studies Program, introduced the history and development of the program. He explained that the Translation Studies Program is the only program of its kind in Southeast Asia to have achieved both the "Excellent" national accreditation and international accreditation from ACQUIN. In addition to presenting the curriculum and graduate competencies, he highlighted various career opportunities available to graduates, including professional translators, interpreters, editors, academics, and other language-related professions. According to him, the demand for professional translators will remain strong because artificial intelligence (AI) has not yet been able to fully comprehend cultural nuances, contextual meanings, and emotional aspects involved in translation.

Complementing the presentation, Dr. Nurul Aini, M.Pd., emphasized that the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) should be viewed as a tool to support translators rather than replace them. Therefore, language proficiency, cultural understanding, and professional competence will continue to be the primary strengths of Translation Studies graduates.

The event proceeded interactively through a discussion and question-and-answer session. Students actively asked about UIN Jakarta's admission pathways, scholarship opportunities, career prospects for Translation Studies graduates, and the challenges faced by translators in the era of artificial intelligence. All questions were answered directly by the speakers.

Through this outreach program, participants gained a more comprehensive understanding of the strengths of the Translation Studies Program, university admission pathways, and the scholarship opportunities available at UIN Jakarta. Besides encouraging students to pursue higher education, the activity also strengthened the relationship between the Faculty of Adab and Humanities of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and MA Al Fauzani. Both institutions expressed their commitment to maintaining communication and expanding future collaboration in academic development and higher education promotion.
