Malaysia, FAH Online News – A number of students from the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, presented their research findings at the 5th Regional Seminar on Islamic Civilization (Seminar Serantau Peradaban Islam/SSPI 2026), held at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) on Tuesday (July 21, 2026).

The two-day seminar, held from July 21–22, 2026, brought together 73 researchers from several countries who had successfully passed a competitive selection process. Among them, 31 students from FAH UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta were selected to present their research papers at this international academic forum.

The student delegation was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum.; Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, M.A., Ph.D.; Chair of the FAH International Student Mobility (ISM) 2026 Committee, Dr. Mauidlotun Nisa, M.Hum.; and Secretary of the ISM 2026 Committee, Hikmah Irfaniah, M.Hum.

In addition to accompanying the students, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum., Dean of FAH UIN Jakarta, was invited to serve as one of the keynote speakers at the seminar. He delivered a keynote presentation entitled "Prophetic Information Literacy, Islamic Ecotheology, and Community Empowerment among Forest Communities in Indonesia."

SSPI 2026 is an international academic forum jointly organized by several higher education institutions, namely the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Indonesia; Universitas Al-Amien Prenduan, Madura, Indonesia; UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq (UIN KHAS) Jember, Indonesia; and the Faculty of Islamic Development Management (FPPI), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali, Brunei Darussalam.

The participation of FAH UIN Jakarta students in SSPI 2026 forms part of the International Student Mobility (ISM) 2026 program. The initiative is designed as an academic and cultural exchange platform that brings together students from all academic levels within the Faculty, including undergraduate (Bachelor's), master's, and doctoral programs.

All study programs within the Faculty participated by sending student delegates. These included the Bachelor's and Master's Programs in Arabic Language and Literature, the Bachelor's Program in Islamic History and Civilization, the Master's and Doctoral Programs in Islamic History and Civilization, Translation Studies, Library and Information Science, and English Literature.

Through the ISM 2026 program, students not only gain valuable academic experience in an international environment but also have strategic opportunities to broaden their academic perspectives, establish international academic and research networks, and strengthen their intercultural communication skills through direct interaction with scholars and students from diverse backgrounds.

The implementation of ISM 2026 reflects FAH UIN Jakarta's continued commitment to advancing the internationalization of higher education. The program is also intended to prepare graduates who are adaptable to global developments, internationally competitive, and capable of promoting the values of Islam, humanity, and Indonesian culture within global academic discourse and international engagement.
