A total of 31 outstanding students, who successfully passed the official selection process, have been selected to participate in a series of international academic activities at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), as well as an academic visit to Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Thailand.

The departure ceremony was attended by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, M.A., M.A., Ph.D.; Dr. Mauidlotun Nisa', M.Hum., Chair of the 2026 FAH ISM Program Committee; and Hikmah Irfaniah, M. The program serves as a strategic platform for students to expand their global academic networks, strengthen their intellectual capacities, and showcase the excellence of Indonesian Islamic and humanities studies on the international stage. The 2026 ISM participants were selected from all academic programs within the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, representing undergraduate (Bachelor's), master's, and doctoral levels. The delegation reflects the Faculty's diverse academic disciplines, including Arabic Language and Literature, Islamic Civilization History, Translation Studies, Library and Information Science, English Literature, the Master's Program in Arabic Language and Literature, and the Master's and Doctoral Programs in Islamic History and Civilization.

More than just a university visit, the International Student Mobility 2026 program has been designed as a platform for intercultural learning and academic collaboration.

Throughout the program, participants will engage in academic discussions, university visits, academic exchange sessions, and presentations of scholarly ideas addressing contemporary issues such as Digital Islamic Humanities, Artificial Intelligence (AI), the preservation of the Islamic cultural heritage of the Indonesian archipelago, literacy and socio-religious transformation, multicultural language and literary studies, and the development of humanities-based cultural policies.

As the highlight of the program, the delegates will participate in and present their academic work at the 5th Seminar Serantau Peradaban Islam (SSPI), an international conference hosted by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia on 21–22 July 2026. The conference will also be attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum., who has been invited as one of the keynote speakers. Several FAH lecturers from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta are also scheduled to participate in the conference.

Through direct engagement with academic communities at internationally renowned universities, students are expected to gain valuable international exposure that enhances their intercultural communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and opportunities for global research collaboration.

The program also represents a tangible implementation of the Faculty's vision to produce graduates who are internationally competitive, adaptive to the rapid development of science and technology, and capable of contributing to the advancement of civilization grounded in Islamic values, humanity, and cultural heritage.

The departure of the 2026 International Student Mobility delegation further marks the Faculty of Adab and Humanities' growing commitment to strengthening international partnerships. Learning experiences at world-class institutions such as the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) are expected to inspire all students to pursue academic excellence, broaden their global networks, and serve as distinguished ambassadors of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, proudly representing Indonesia on the global stage.
