FAH UIN JAKARTA PROMOTES SINTA SYNCHRONIZATION, INVOLVES STUDENTS IN ACCELERATING SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATION

South Tangerang, FAH Online News - The Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a strategic forum on the Review of SINTA Journals for FAH Lecturers (June 2, 2025). The event took place in the Main Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of the FAH Building at Campus 3. Attendees included faculty leadership, program heads and secretaries, journal management teams, the Quality Assurance Task Force (GJM), educational staff, and student volunteers. The event featured the main speaker, Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, M.A., as the Vice Rector for General Administration at UIN Jakarta. In his presentation, Prof. Imam emphasized the importance of optimizing faculty members' scientific publications through the SINTA (Science and Technology Index) platform, particularly in enhancing citations and institutional rankings.

“Publication in journals and synchronization with SINTA are key to meeting LPKM targets. Lecturers who have not yet obtained citations must receive guidance,” he stressed. He also encouraged students writing theses in concise formats to be directed toward writing scientific articles, which can be published and enrich lecturers' publication portfolios as reviewers.

Technical issues were also discussed in the meeting, particularly regarding Community Service activities that have not been properly documented in the system. Faculty members were asked to ensure that data on community service activities over the past three years is entered completely and accurately. The faculty also gave faculty members one month to synchronize their SINTA accounts to support the validity of performance data.

A SINTA synchronization workshop will be held next week by the Journal Center for educational staff and student volunteers. Participants in the June-July 2025 Community Service Program (KKN) will also be trained as research and community service data input assistants. Additionally, publications per semester are a mandatory requirement for the Faculty Performance Report (LPKM). Dean of FAH, Dr. Ali Ramdhani, emphasized: “SINTA performance will be a consideration for academic promotion.”

During the discussion session, Prof. Dr. Suma'inna, M.Si., Head of the Journal Center, added that faculty members must proactively understand the features of the SINTA system and optimize scientific publications each semester. Meanwhile, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum., Dean of FAH, stated that technical briefings will also be conducted for KKN participants to support the faculty data synchronization process.

This activity is part of FAH UIN Jakarta's strategic steps to accelerate faculty and institutional performance in scientific publications. In addition to Prof. Imam, the faculty also invited the Head of the Journal Center, Prof. Dr. Suma'inna, M.Si., and the Head of the Performance Center at UIN Jakarta, Dr. Saifuddin Asrori, M.Si., to provide further support for future academic agendas.
