FAH UIN Jakarta Positively Welcomes the Visit of Universitas Pamulang's Faculty of Letters

Tuesday, August 13, 2024- FAH UIN JAKARTA| Faculty of Letters Pamulang University (Unpam) paid a visit to the Faculty of Adab and Humanities UIN Jakarta. This visit is part of an effort to strengthen academic relations and enhance cooperation between Unpam and FAH UIN Jakarta. The goal is to explore the curriculum and academic design owned by FAH UIN Jakarta, especially in the Literature Study Program. This important agenda took place in the 2nd floor courtroom of FAH UIN Jakarta and was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities UIN Jakarta, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum, the Vice Deans, and several Heads of Study Programs at FAH UIN Jakarta. While the Unpam parties who attended this agenda included the Dean of the Unpam Faculty of Letters, Head of the Unpam English Literature Department, Chairperson and members of the Unpam SGMF, and several coordinators from Pamulang University.

Before the warm discussion took place, the Dean of the Faculty of Letters at Pamulang University conveyed the purpose of his visit, “Our presence here wants to learn more, especially in the field of literature, because the Faculty of Letters at Unpam is still developing. Previously, we had a lot of communication with UIN Jakarta, for example requests to be a resource person and others. Incidentally, lecturers at Unpam are alumni of UIN Jakarta. Unpam is arguably a young university, so we need to learn a lot and ask universities that are much more experienced.” he said.

During the visit, the main discussions focused on curriculum development, faculty and university accreditation, MBKM, student learning design, and other collaborative opportunities. Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag., S.S., M. Hum. shared the curriculum model owned by FAH UIN Jakarta, “Currently UIN Jakarta is implementing a new curriculum, we have switched from AIS (Academic Information System) UIN Jakarta to e-SEMESTA (Electronic Integrated Management System for Religious Universities) application which is based on OBE (Outcome Based Education). This year our target is to pursue superior ISK (Instrument of Conversion Unit) including for international accreditation,” he said. In addition, the Head of English Literature Study Program of FAH UIN Jakarta also affirmed the statement of the Dean of FAH UIN Jakarta, “Because we moved to the e-Semesta application, all lecturers' RPS must be completely inputted into the system. Every 5 years we conduct an evaluation for the international accreditation. Since it is currently 2024, we will make a new curriculum for the next 2025,” he added.

This agenda explores many joint programs that can enrich the academic experience in both faculties. Discussions also include planning academic activities involving both universities, MBKM programs, and sharing sessions related to courses owned by each literature study program at UIN Jakarta and Unpam. At the end of the agenda, Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, M. A., M. A., Ph. D. explained some of the efforts made by FAH UIN Jakarta to pursue international accreditation, “We need to run as hard as we can to achieve international accreditation with the limitations we have. We are trying to establish cooperation with several international universities, support students to be active in international activities by carrying out Indian Culture Meet activities for example, which features Indian dances from Jawaharlal Nehru. We also try to understand the diverse characteristics of students and go the extra mile to accelerate the graduation of FAH UIN Jakarta students, for example by contacting them one by one,” said Vice Dean III FAH UIN Jakarta.

The visit from Pamulang University is a strategic step in building a closer partnership with UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Both parties hope that this visit can be the first step in building mutually beneficial cooperation for both parties.
