FAH UIN Jakarta Linguistics Consortium Holds FGD Themed “Linguistic Research Map with Global Impact”
FAH News Online, Jakarta, 27 November 2025 — Linguistics Consortium of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the theme “Map of Linguistic Research with a Global Impact.” This event will take place on Thursday, November 27 2025, in the Deanata Meeting Room, 2nd floor of FAH UIN Jakarta. This FGD emphasizes the importance of linguistic research mapping which is able to make a broad contribution on the international stage, while strengthening the research capacity of academics within the FAH environment. This event was attended by all members of the FAH UIN Jakarta Linguistics consortium and also several BSA and MBSA students.
This event presents Dra. Nana Yuliana, MA, M.Si., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Language and Letters, National University (UNAS) as the main resource person. He is the former Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia Houston and Ambassador of the LBBP RI to the Republic of Cuba and also to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Republic of Haiti and Jamaica, based in Havava. In his material content, he explains various trends in contemporary linguistic research as well as research development strategies oriented towards global impact. Through their presentation, participants gained insight into the direction of linguistic research relevant to academic needs and the development of linguistics at the world level.
This discussion was moderated directly by the chairman of the FAH Linguistics consortium, Dr. Zubair, MA, who is also a lecturer in Arabic Linguistics at FAH UIN Jakarta. FGD is interactive, with various perspectives and ideas related to strengthening the quality of linguistic research that emerged during the session. Through the implementation of this FGD, the FAH UIN Jakarta Linguistics Consortium hopes to expand its academic network and produce a more focused linguistic research map and contribute to the progress of science, both at the national and global levels.
