South Tangerang, FAH Online News – The spirit of literacy and student creativity once again enlivened the academic atmosphere at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. The Library Science Study Program successfully held the launch of the short story anthology Punaraksara: Memories and Unfinished Pages on Wednesday (July 8, 2026) at Prof. Dr. Bustami Abdul Ghani Theater Hall, FAH UIN Jakarta.

Carrying the theme "Story Machine: From Pen to Masterpiece," the event marked an important milestone for the Class A Library Science students of the 2025 cohort, who proudly published their first collective literary work. The anthology was produced as the final output of the Indonesian Language course, demonstrating that classroom learning can generate tangible works with academic, creative, and inspirational value.

The book launch took place in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere, attended by lecturers, students, and members of the academic community of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities. More than a ceremonial event, it served as a platform to appreciate the students' dedication to developing their writing skills from the very beginning of their academic journey.

In her remarks, Atiqotul Fitriyah, M.Hum., lecturer of the Indonesian Language course, emphasized the importance of developing competencies that would become valuable assets for students' future careers. According to her, success is determined not only by academic achievements but also by one's portfolio, experiences, and professional networks.

"You must have something valuable to offer. I hope this small beginning will become the foundation for your future," she said.

She further explained that life after graduation depends not only on academic competence but also on the ability to build meaningful relationships while cultivating a strong literacy culture.

"Life extends beyond the university. We need both networking and literacy. The combination of these two elements is essential for your future," she added.

Atiqotul also encouraged students to believe in their own abilities and continuously develop their potential through student organizations, scholarship programs, competitions, and writing activities. She stressed that every piece of work they create serves as a stepping stone toward greater opportunities in the future.

Appreciation was also expressed by Siti Maryam, S.Ag., S.S., M.Hum., Head of the Library Science Study Program. She expressed her pride in the achievements of the second-semester students who successfully published a collective anthology. According to her, this accomplishment proves that classroom learning can produce concrete and meaningful outcomes.

"I am proud that through a single Indonesian Language course, our students have already produced a published work. This is not the first literary publication from the Library Science Study Program, but it is the most comprehensive one because every student contributed," she remarked.

Quoting the Indonesian proverb 'Practice makes perfect,' Siti Maryam emphasized that writing skills are developed through continuous practice. She encouraged students to consistently strengthen their literacy competencies as preparation for both academic challenges and professional careers.

"Opportunities come to those who are prepared. Therefore, keep building connections and seeking information that can open doors to greater opportunities," she advised.

The highlight of the event was the symbolic launching ceremony of Punaraksara: Memories and Unfinished Pages, led by Siti Maryam, S.Ag., S.S., M.Hum., together with Atiqotul Fitriyah, M.Hum. The ceremony was warmly welcomed by all participants and symbolized the birth of the students' first collective publication as the result of collaborative learning.

More than simply a ceremonial event, the launch reflected the Library Science Study Program's commitment to fostering a culture of reading, writing, and scholarly creativity among students. The publication of Punaraksara: Memories and Unfinished Pages is expected to inspire students to continue producing works that not only enrich Indonesia's literary heritage but also contribute positively to society.

Through this initiative, the Library Science Study Program of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, once again reaffirmed its role as an academic environment that nurtures lifelong learners, aspiring writers, and young intellectuals capable of transforming ideas into meaningful works that benefit both academia and society.
