FAH UIN Jakarta Inaugural Meeting: “Building Synergy for Academic Progress”

On a sunny day at the beginning of 2025, the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Jakarta held its first meeting which was attended by the Dean, Deputy Dean, Head of Administration, as well as the Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs as well as tendiks within FAH. This meeting is an important moment to formulate strategic steps to improve academic and operational quality in the new year.

The meeting was opened by the Head of the FAH Administrative Section with the submission of administrative reports and the main agenda items to be discussed. After that, the meeting was chaired by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs who guided the discussion until it was finished.

In his remarks, the Dean of FAH, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag., SS, M.Hum., CiQnR, emphasized the importance of synchronizing courses across all study programs in the FAH environment. He emphasized that each study program must ensure that lecturer placement is carried out carefully, in accordance with scientific substance and the fulfillment of the number of credits based on the lecturer's workload. This accuracy is considered important to maintain the quality of learning and ensure that lecturers' duties are carried out optimally.

In addition, the Dean gave specific directions regarding the placement of non-permanent lecturers (DTT). He reminded that the placement of DTT follows the proposal that had been ratified by the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) and the Chancellor, in order to ensure administrative order in the payment of honorariums for non-permanent lecturers. The Dean asserted that observance of these procedures was essential to maintain trust and integrity in human resources management.

Another highlight of the meeting was the capacity arrangement and division of classrooms. The Dean requested special attention so that there would be no clash of schedules between study programs, especially in general courses. The problem of excess hours or number of credits of general course lecturers is also an issue that is discussed in depth, with a view to finding a comprehensive and sustainable solution.

On this occasion, the Dean also conveyed a request for lecturers from the Ushuluddin Faculty for the History of Islamic Culture course. He emphasized the importance of a rapid response regarding who can fulfill this request. The Dean hopes that relevant parties will provide immediate input and recommendations to ensure that these needs are met in a timely manner.

The meeting took place with a dynamic discussion, involving input from each study program representative. Synchronization of courses, division of classrooms, evaluation of lecturer workloads, and response to requests from the Ushuluddin Faculty are the main focuses which are expected to be implemented in the near future.

With this inaugural meeting, the Faculty of Adab and Humanities confirmed its commitment to continuously improving the quality of education and academic governance. The direction and passion conveyed by the Dean is a strong foundation for living 2025 with full optimism and dedication.
