FAH UIN Jakarta Discusses International Accreditation and Facility Development in Coordination Meeting with Vice Rector for General Administration
South Tangerang - Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) of State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a Coordination Meeting with the Vice Rector II on Friday, October 04, 2024, at the 2nd floor Conference Room of FAH. This meeting discussed various important issues, including building safety, learning quality, international accreditation, as well as the development of facilities and Human Resources (HR) within the faculty.
In his speech, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S. Ag., S.S., M.Hum., CIQnR, Dean of FAH, explained the development of the academic process at the Faculty. One of the main points discussed was the plan to change the format of students' final project from thesis to scientific journal publication, which is currently still under discussion in the consortium. The final decision regarding this matter is expected to be issued in the form of a Decree (SK) by the end of December 2024. The Dean also emphasized the importance of accelerating student graduation, with a Main Performance Indicator (KPI) target of 30%, although FAH has currently reached 50%.
Vice Rector II, Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, M.A., highlighted a number of strategic issues, including the condition of the FAH building which requires serious attention. He emphasized that the safety of building occupants is a top priority, with plans to repair light ornaments in a number of parts of the building.
In addition, the Vice Chancellor II also emphasized the importance of synchronization between learning programs at FAH and the vision and mission of the University, especially related to the internationalization of education, the internalization of student scientific publications that enter reputable journals and the synthesis of scientific work are referred to as important components in international accreditation and challenges in managing Information Technology (IT) are also highlighted, including internet connections and e-learning module systems that are not yet optimal.
In this coordination meeting, discussions and discussions were held involving various parties from the Faculty, including the Vice Deans of FAH, Head of Administration, Head of Study Program, and Secretary of Study Program. In the discussion, Vice Dean I of FAH, Dr. Ida Farida, MLIS, conveyed the plan to develop a new study program, namely Islamic Interior Design, which will collaborate with Sebelas Maret University (UNS). This program requires the development of the FAH computer laboratory, especially with high-tech computer equipment. Cooperation with sponsors, including banks that work with UIN Jakarta, is expected to help realize this program.
International cooperation was also highlighted in this meeting. The Dean of FAH added that FAH is establishing cooperation with overseas Pesantren and Universities to increase international recognition. Some of the collaborations that have been running, such as the Tarjamah Study Program, have succeeded in attracting students from various regions, especially outstanding Islamic boarding schools in West Java. In addition, collaboration with Malaysian SMEs in the field of research and teaching is also one of the strategic steps that is expected to continue to grow.
This coordination meeting emphasized the commitment of FAH and UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta to optimally prepare for international accreditation, improve infrastructure, and improve the quality of learning and human resource management. Various strategic steps will be taken to overcome existing challenges, including resolving IT issues and accelerating the implementation of e-learning modules. These steps are expected to ensure the smooth running of academic processes as well as faculty operations in facing future global challenges.
