FAH UIN Jakarta Conducts Field Assessment for Accreditation of English Literature Study Programs
South Tangerang, FAH Online News – Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta carried out an accreditation field assessment for the English Literature Study Program on Saturday, 11/22/2025. The activity took place in the Main Courtroom of the FAH Building and presented two assessors from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
The implementation of the assessment began with remarks from the Dean of FAH, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag., SS., M.Hum., who emphasized the hope that the assessment process will run smoothly and provide the best results. “We have five study programs that have achieved superior titles. The English Literature Study Program is currently ranked B. "Today we together provide support so that this assessment produces better achievements and is in accordance with the form that has been prepared," he said.
Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs (Warek I), Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie also gave a speech. He reminded all faculty leaders to fully accompany the assessment process and maintain effective communication during the activity. “As shohibul bait, we apologize for any shortcomings that may exist. "Hopefully today's assessment implementation will run optimally," he said, closing his speech with a rhyme.
The assessment was led by two BAN-PT assessors, namely, Dr. Adi Suriyanto, M.Hum. – Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and Prof. Dr. Baso Jaharuddin, M. Hum. – Makassar State University (UNM)
First assessor, Dr. Adi Suriyanto, said that accreditation is not just an assessment, but a mechanism to ensure study programs run according to national academic standards. “We verified 69 assessment items, 35 of which were automatically generated by the system. There could be erroneous data, so direct review is very important,” said Dr. Adi.
He emphasized several main aspects of assessment, namely input, process and output. “We see how the implementation of OBE, curriculum suitability, and graduate readiness respond to KKNI needs. Outcomes and impacts are also a concern for what graduates can do, and to what extent they have an influence in the world of work, — added Dr. Adi.
Meanwhile, the second assessor, Prof. Baso Jaharuddin, highlighted the technical aspects of implementing the assessment. He said that the verification process requires accurate and consistent data. “We will interview students, alumni, users, lecturers and education personnel, as well as review relevant facilities in LED. The data read in the system needs to be adjusted, especially if there are additions or corrections, explained Prof Baso.
Discussions focused on students' academic experience, the relevance of graduates in the world of work, the quality of learning, and the effectiveness of academic and administrative services.
Both emphasized that the assessment was carried out objectively and aimed at helping the study program strengthen academic quality. “We hope that the English Literature Study Program will get the best results,” said Dr. Adi.
The implementation of the assessment went conducively with the full support of elements of the deanery, lecturers, tendik and students of the English Literature Study Program
