FAH Strengthens Research Direction through the Formation of Excellent Research and Service Groups

Main Courtroom, FAH News Online — Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is again holding a Meeting to Establish a Research and Service Group for Leading Communities as part of efforts to strengthen the culture of research and service in the faculty environment in the main courtroom on the 2nd floor, Monday 01/26/2026

This meeting is a follow-up to the results of discussions with UIN Chancellor Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta during a visit to FAH last week, which emphasized the importance of developing superior research based on FAH's unique knowledge.

In this forum, the faculty determined five superior research themes, namely humanities in the digital realm, preservation of Indonesian Islamic culture, applied Arabic linguistics based on artificial intelligence (AI), moderate Islam and multiculturalism, as well as historical literacy and Indonesian Islamic culture.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, the Deputy Deans, the Chair and Secretary of the Study Program, as well as the Chair of the Science Consortium from various scientific groups within FAH. The scientific fields involved include linguistics, literature, Islamic history and library science, which have been the main academic strengths of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities.

In his speech, the Dean of FAH Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag., SS, M.Hum. emphasized that faculties need to have superior research that is clear, directed and sustainable, so that this meeting becomes a strategic forum to determine the focus of research and community service for FAH in the future. He also emphasized the importance of service that has a direct impact, is relevant to community needs, and is integrated with superior research themes, as well as reminding all academic activities to display the identity and symbol of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in each publication media.

Meanwhile, Deputy Dean I of FAH, Dr. Ida Farida, M.LIS., in her presentation said that determining a superior research theme is very important and strategic for the faculty. According to him, FAH needs to prepare and clearly emphasize the direction of research, especially in the context of quality assurance and accreditation processes, where the consistency of lecturer research focus and direction is one of the main assessment points.

The discussion became increasingly intense and constructive with each study program proposing various strategic ideas which were considered capable of strengthening, improving and enriching the direction of research and community service within FAH. The exchange of ideas between scientific fields reflects the spirit of collaboration and academic synergy which is the foundation for developing superior faculty research.

Through this activity, the Faculty of Adab and Humanities emphasizes its commitment to continue to encourage the development of research and service to a superior, directed and sustainable community, while strengthening the role of faculty in supporting the achievement of the university's vision as a center for scientific development based on academic values, humanity, and sustainability.
