FAH Starts 2026 with Activity-Based Budget Meeting
Main Courtroom, FAH News Online — Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Syarif Hiadayatullah Jakarta started 2026 by holding its first meeting to discuss activity-based budget planning at the FAH Main Courtroom 01/09/2026.
The meeting was chaired directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag., SS, M.Hum. This activity was on the strategic early year agenda to ensure the smooth running of all FAH programs and activities over the next year.
The meeting was attended by the deputy deans, the chairmen and secretaries of the study programmes, and the education personnel. The presence of all elements of the faculty leadership and management is considered important because budget planning is directly related to the design of activities that will be carried out by the FAH throughout 2026.
In his speech, the Dean of FAH said that this first meeting was a warm-up at the beginning of the year as well as momentum to strengthen coordination and cooperation between units. He emphasized that the preparation of the 2026 FAH budget applies the principle of an activity-based budget, where the allocation of funds is adjusted to the achievements of the faculty's Main Performance Indicators (IKU).
“Our budget is activity-based, meaning money follows a predetermined IKU. Therefore, all units need to pay close attention and understand this planning to be in line with FAH performance targets,” said the Dean.
Furthermore, the Dean also highlighted the direction of FAH policy in 2026 which increasingly emphasizes internationalization, along with the FAH's achievements at the international level (AQUIN). He emphasized that future faculty activities need to be directed at international scales and standards.
The next presentation was made by the Deputy Dean II for Administration, Dr. Siti Amsariah, M.Ag., who presented the draft budget as a form of transparency and responsibility for managing faculty finances to all meeting participants.
In his presentation, Deputy Dean II made one of the important points, namely the increase in the budget for the publication of scientific articles for lecturers and students in journals of national and international reputation, such as SINTA and Scopus. This policy is expected to encourage an increase in the quality and quantity of scientific publications of the FAH academic community.
Meanwhile, Deputy Dean I for Academic Affairs Dr. Ida Farida, MLIS also conveyed policy directions regarding the implementation of Community Service (PKM) for lecturers. He stressed that service activities should be designed with an eye to outputs that are applied and have a real impact on society.
“In preparing PKM activities, lecturers need to produce modules or products that can be applied directly to the community. "Thus, service activities are not only ceremonial, but are also able to support the achievements of the IKU Faculty of Adab and Humanities," he said.
during the discussion session, the Chair of the English Literature Study Program, Inayatul Chusna, M.Hum., proposed the formation of an assisted village as a permanent partner of the faculty. According to him, the existence of assisted villages will make it easier for lecturers in each study program to carry out service activities that are directed, sustainable and in accordance with their respective knowledge.
The meeting then developed into a constructive discussion with various input from participants, especially in designing academic and non-academic programs and activities at national and international levels. All of these proposals are directed at supporting FAH's vision as a superior and globally competitive faculty. (S.N.)
