FAH Receives Visitation of the ACQUIN Assessor Team for the first day of International accreditation

Ciputat, FAH Online News – Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta continues to accelerate the internationalization process by involving six study programs at various levels of education. Among them at undergraduate level are the Arabic Language and Literature Study Program (Prodi), the History of Islamic Civilization Study Program, the Library Science Study Program, the English Literature Study Program, the Tarjamah Study Program, as well as at master's level, the Master's Study Program in the History of Islamic Culture. This study program is currently undergoing international accreditation carried out by the International Quality Assurance Institute ACQUIN (Accreditation, Certification, and Quality Assurance Institute) in a hybrid manner.

This accreditation involves ACQUIN assessors, namely Dr. Jasmine Rudolph, Dr. Michael Mayer, Martin Borg, Simon Schachtl, and Robert Raback. FAH received a schedule for Cluster 8, which will take place on 12-13 December 2024, with a visitation on the first day, Thursday, 12 December 2024, at 12.00 WIB.

The arrival of ACQUIN assessors was warmly welcomed by the Dean of FAH, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum., together with Deputy Dean I, Dr. Ida Farida, MLIS; Deputy Dean II, Dr. Siti Amsariah, M.Ag.; Deputy Dean III, Prof. Dr. Usep Abdul Matin, MA, MA, Ph.D., as well as Heads of Study Programs, Secretaries of Study Programs, and teaching staff. At the welcoming event, the ceremony was accompanied by a typical dance from Lampung Province and the wearing of batik cloth by the Dean of FAH to the ACQUIN assessor.

The international accreditation process is carried out with direct visitation activities by ACQUIN assessors represented by Dr. Michael Mayer and Fred Hartlt. This activity aims to carry out discussions and direct checks regarding the implementation of academic quality assurance and infrastructure at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities.

During his visit, the assessor toured the entire FAH building, visiting various facilities, ranging from the library, Cak Nur's book collection (Nur Kholis Majid), Smart Class, classrooms, theater room, study program room, lecturer's room, journal room, main courtroom, to the deanery room.

On this occasion, FAH took the opportunity to explain the various achievements and efforts that have been made to improve academic quality and infrastructure to support the teaching and learning process. Dean of FAH, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum., emphasized the importance of international accreditation as a strategic step to improve the faculty's global reputation and support scientific development at the international level.

During the visitation process, ACQUIN assessors have in-depth discussions with faculty leaders, lecturers and administrative staff regarding the implementation of quality standards that have been implemented at FAH, as well as how faculties adapt to international needs in curriculum and academic services. The main focus of checking is facilities and infrastructure, including modern learning facilities such as interactive classrooms, theater rooms for artistic activities, as well as book collections which are important references for the development of science.

After the visitation event was over, the next session continued with an online meeting via Zoom Meeting at 14.30 - 16.00 WIB. This meeting involved all levels of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, including the Deanery, Head of Study Program (Kaprodi), Secretary of Study Program (Sekprodi), Quality Assurance Group (GJM), and FAH lecturers. During this session, an in-depth discussion was held regarding the implementation of academic quality standards and the development of study programs at FAH.

Then, at 16.30 - 18.00 WIB, followed by a second meeting specifically attended by FAH staff (educational staff). During this meeting, ACQUIN assessors provided an opportunity to discuss with teaching staff their role in the accreditation process, as well as how they support the development of quality education and learning in the faculty.

With the conclusion of these two sessions of the meeting, the process of international accreditation on the first day through visitation and discussion has proceeded smoothly. This activity provides an overview of the efforts and achievements that have been made by the Faculty of Adab and Humanities in improving the quality of education. The meeting will continue on the second day with a session with students and alumni, and will close with a final meeting involving the entire Adab and Humanities Faculty community.
