Jakarta, FAH News Online, 9 December 2024 – Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and an International Guest Lecture with the theme "Translation and Dictionary", presenting Prof. Ts. Dr. Muhammad Sabri bin Sahrir from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). This event was attended by lecturers including Prof. Dr. Darsita, M.Hum., Dr. Siti Amsariah M.Ag., Dr. Mauidlotun Nisa'. M.Hum., as well as students from the Tarjamah Study Program and Masters in Arabic Language and Literature.

This event opened with a warm welcome by Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum., dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities. Prof. Sabri then emphasized translation skills for Arabic language students in the modern era.

"Students must expand their abilities and not rely on machine translation. "Use technology as a tool, not to imitate," stressed Prof. Sabri.

The next session in the form of a sharing session was exciting with many questions from participants. Prof. Sabri also motivates students to continue to study independently and develop skills outside of college. This public lecture succeeded in providing new insight and enthusiasm for FAH students in facing the translation challenges in the modern era.
