FAH Even Semester 2025 Lecturer Meeting: Improving the Quality of Education and Innovation Amid Challenges
Theater, FAH Online News – In order to welcome the even semester academic year, the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) held a Lecturer Meeting on Monday, February 25 2025, in the theater room on the 5th floor of the FAH Building. This meeting was attended by faculty leaders, including the Dean, Deputy Dean, and lecturers within the FAH.
The meeting was opened by the Dean of FAH, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum, who was accompanied by the Deputy Dean, namely Dr. Ida Farida, M.LIS (Deputy Dean 1), and Dr. Siti Amsariah (Deputy Dean 2). This meeting was moderated by the Chair of the TU FAH Section, Iwan Kurniawa, S.Pd., M.Si.
In his presentation, the Dean of FAH revealed several important faculty achievements, including the results of the Main Performance Index (IKU) that had been achieved. “Thank you to the entire academic community for contributing to this achievement. Although the challenge of budgetary efficiency is considerable, the spirit of improving the quality of education remains high. Moreover, by getting superior accreditation in several study programs and ACQUIN recognition with ‘Unconditional’ status,” said the Dean enthusiastically.
Not only that, in strengthening religious moderation FAH managed to reach 99.4%. “We are very proud of this achievement in implementing religious moderation within the FAH environment, which of course we will continue to improve," continued the Dean.
Inviting lecturers to continue to innovate and improve the quality of education, the Dean emphasized the importance of continuing their education to doctoral level for lecturers who have not yet done so. He also encouraged lecturers to take part in lecturer certification so that they continue to develop professional competencies.
Apart from that, the Dean of FAH expressed his efforts to maintain environmental sustainability by realizing the Green Campus through reducing bottle and plastic waste and creating a green area that supports a comfortable learning atmosphere.
During the meeting, the Dean of FAH also informed that the application for an increase in lecturers' remuneration would be based on their respective performance achievements. “Good performance will have a direct impact on increasing remuneration and this is part of the evaluation and appreciation for lecturers' contributions,” he explained.
The Dean of FAH then emphasized that the main task of lecturers is to ensure that students graduate on time. The graduation deadline for students from the class of 2023 onwards is 8 semesters, while for the class of 2022 and earlier, it is 10 semesters. Lecturers are also expected to encourage students in scientific publications, both in journals and as a result of published guidance.
On the agenda of the meeting, several lecturers were also presented with awards for the best FAH lecturer as a result of Lecturer Evaluation by students, namely Fadhilatul Hamdani, M.Hum with point 3.95 from the Library Science study program, second place was won by Fauziayyah Irma, RSS. MA with 3.94 points, then third place Ida Rosida, M.Hum with 3.90 points. These three lecturers are proof of their high commitment to educating students.
Regarding the question asked by Prof. Farhan regarding the lecturer's obligations in managing the guidance student MPA, the Dean emphasized that student achievements in competitions or other academic activities will be recognized through proof of certificate. “This can be a motivation for students to continue competing and developing their abilities,” added the Dean.
Mrs. Zakiya also asked questions related to lecturer certification and the importance of paying attention to this as a source of honorarium income for lecturers. The Dean replied that the matter was already being discussed at central level and that there would soon be certainty of disbursement. “Please be united in completing BKD according to the specified schedule,” stressed the Dean.
In addition, the Dean provided information that during the month of Ramadan, teaching would be conducted online. If there are offline classes, this will be mutually agreed upon with the students, taking into account where they live.
Mr. Faisal asked questions regarding lecturer performance contracts and flexibility in implementing BKN e-performance. The dean explained that to get excellent grades, lecturers must reach 150% of the set indicators. “The main priority is to ensure students graduate on time, which is a key indicator in lecturer performance,” said the Dean.
At the final session of the meeting, Deputy Dean 2, Dr. Siti Amsariah, M.Ag said that FAH won the award as “Best Informative Unit” in the Website and Instagram categories. This is proof of FAH's success in innovating and keeping up with current developments in the digital era.
With clear commitment and direction from faculty leaders, this meeting is expected to provide concrete guidance for all lecturers in carrying out their duties and responsibilities during the even semester of 2025. (SN)
