As a form of full support for this activity, the Deanery of FAH issued Circular Letter Number: B-1258/F2/HM/006/09/2025 which instructed all 1st semester lecturers to transfer lecture activities, so that students can take part in the event in full.
This activity will be held on Thursday, October 2 2025, at 07.30–12.00 WIB, at the Harun Nasution Hall. The goal is to provide mental and character provisions to new students as the initial foundation for living an academic life in college.
The event opened with an art performance from Artefah, followed by a reading of the schedule by the MC, reading verses from the holy Koran, singing the song Indonesia Raya and the UIN Jakarta Hymn.
Dean of FAH, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag., SS, M.Hum, officially opened the activity and delivered a welcome to the new students. In his message, he motivates students to always foster a spirit of learning that is not limited to the classroom alone, but makes every place and situation a valuable learning medium.
Dr. Ade also emphasized that FAH continues to make various improvements, both in terms of academics and providing supporting facilities, in order to create a conducive and quality lecture environment. Furthermore, he recalled the importance of distinguishing between learning methods at school and in higher education, where students are required to be more independent, critical and responsible for their academic processes.
Apart from that, the Dean of FAH emphasized the importance of maintaining academic ethics in every lecture activity, as well as encouraging students to actively collaborate with lecturers, including in publishing scientific papers as an alternative for preparing theses.
Chancellor of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar MA, Ph.D, as Keynote Speaker, delivered a warm welcome to new students in the Studium Generale activities. In his message, he emphasized that a person's success is not solely determined by the department or university where they study, but by character, consistency and sincerity in developing their potential sustainably.
Prof. Asep also emphasized the importance of filial piety to parents as a solid spiritual foundation, while reminding students to always instill a positive mindset. This is considered important so that students are able to face academic and social dynamics with a wise and solution attitude.

Furthermore, the Chancellor said that the study period is an important phase in the formation of a mentality that is tough, adaptive and has integrity. Therefore, it is hoped that the Studium Generale can be the starting point for the formation of a critical, inclusive and oriented way of thinking about real contributions to society, the nation and the people.
The event continued with the reading of prayers by Mr. Usep Abdul Matin, then entered a material presentation session by Akbar Zainuddin, MM, MJW, a motivator and book author. In his presentation, he invited students to dare to dream big, recognize and pursue their passion, while avoiding negative attitudes that could hinder their potential.
According to him, students with a great mentality are those who are able to recognize their abilities, pursue them until they are proficient, and always start the day with positive energy. He also reminded students to stay away from the negative traits he calls 5M: complaining, being lazy, procrastinating, making excuses, and blaming others.
This session closed with positive affirmations which were attended by all participants and a certificate was given by the Dean of FAH.
This event was also enlivened by the presence of Bobby Al Mahbubi, M.Hum., a Stand Up Comedy comedian and FAH Alumni who conveyed the importance of having a tough mentality in facing the challenges of the times. He emphasized that character, patience, effort and optimism are the main provisions for students in pursuing their academic journey and social life.
As a form of award, the certificate was given by Mr. Usep Abdul Matin, followed by a group photo session. The Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) also gives special appreciation to students who achieved achievements at national and international levels in 2025 as well as new students with the highest scores in the Studium Generale pre-test and post-test.
The event closed with a performance of “Solo Song” by Ahmad Miqdar Haqiqi, an outstanding student at national level in the bass sound category. He previously succeeded in appearing with the 2025 Gita Bahana Nusantara Choir at the State Palace on the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. This performance was a proud conclusion, before all the participants together sang the song Bagimu Negeri solemnly.
The enthusiasm of students in semester 1 is seen to be very high in participating in this entire series of activities. The Studium Generale is not only a place to welcome new students, but also a form of commitment from the Faculty of Adab and Humanities to produce a young generation who is academically intelligent, mentally tough, and has strong character, ready to face challenges and welcome the nation's future.
