Coaching Clinic Scopus Article: FAH Encourages Lecturers and Students to Improve the Quality of Scientific Publications
FAH Building, FAH Online News – Faculty of Adab and Humanities is again holding an important workshop with the theme “Writing & Publishing a Scopus Article: Coaching Clinic”. This activity presented a resource person from Minnesota State University, Prof. Danielle Haque, and, Hasnul Insani Djohar, Ph.D (Lecturer in English Literature) moderated by Luthfiana Dwi Rakhmawati, MA (lecturer in English Literature). The workshop was held on 11/21/2025, in the Main Courtroom, 2nd Floor.
This activity aims to develop the capacity of lecturers and students in writing articles of international reputation, especially those indexed by Scopus. Through this workshop, participants not only gain theoretical knowledge, but also practical guidance to improve the quality of scientific work that is ready to be published in reputable international journals.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities expressed his high appreciation to the resource persons and all the committees that had prepared this activity well. He hopes that this workshop will not only end here, but can be implemented in real terms by lecturers and students.
“After participating in this activity, we hope that all participants, especially lecturers, can continue to develop the ability to write scientific articles and become increasingly motivated to publish work in international journals with Scopus reputation. "This is in line with the faculty's vision and mission to improve academic achievement and strengthen scientific contributions at the international level, so that FAH can continue to move forward to become a superior, competitive and globally competitive faculty," he said.
In the Coaching Clinic session, Prof. Danielle Haque presents material in a very comprehensive manner, starting from scientific article writing techniques, strategies that need to be prepared before sending a manuscript to a journal, to how to choose the right Scopus indexed journal according to the research field. He also explained effective methods of writing titles and abstracts, including how to structure the positioning and contribution of articles so that they are aligned with the direction of discussion of the target journal.
Apart from that, Prof. Danielle provides practical tips for dealing with the process of revision and rejection of articles (rejection) and how to develop a resubmission strategy to other journals. Not only focusing on the technical aspects of publications, he also explained the steps to build a structured publication pipeline, both for the benefit of developing a personal academic career and collaborating in a research team.
All material is delivered very clearly, systematically and applicatively so that participants, both lecturers and students, can understand each stage of the scientific publication process in more depth. Participants also gained new insights into how to map long-term research, manage manuscripts at various stages (drafting, revision, submission), and build a productive and sustainable publication culture in the academic environment.
This workshop is part of a fellowship program designed to provide intensive learning space for lecturers and students in the field of writing and reputable scientific publications. This activity is expected to be a concrete step in encouraging a research culture, improving the quality of scientific publications, and creating a productive and innovative academic environment at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities.
