Celebrating Independence Day, FAH UIN Jakarta Holds a Variety of Competitions and an Arts and Cultural Festival
South Tangerang, FAH News Online – In commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, organized a series of activities under the theme “FAH UIN Jakarta Independence Celebration” on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Carrying the theme “A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia,” the event served as an opportunity to strengthen togetherness and foster the spirit of nationalism within the FAH community.
The series of activities began with various traditional Independence Day competitions, starting at 9:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB) and continuing until completion at the FAH UIN Jakarta Lobby Courtyard. The competitions included cracker-eating, balloon pickup, lining up according to belief, blindfolded zigzag, sarong racing, and balloon dancing.
The various competitions were enthusiastically participated in by lecturers, educational staff, and members of the FAH UIN Jakarta academic community. An atmosphere of joy and camaraderie was evident throughout the competitions. Participants encouraged and supported one another, making the competitions not only a source of entertainment but also a means of strengthening social ties, fostering togetherness, and promoting sportsmanship within FAH UIN Jakarta.
The participants’ enthusiasm became even more evident as each team attempted to complete every challenge with great spirit. Laughter and cheers filled the event, creating a warm and family-oriented atmosphere in celebration of Indonesia’s Independence.
The excitement of the Independence Celebration continued in the afternoon with an Arts and Cultural Festival and Karaoke Competition, which began at 1:30 p.m. WIB and continued until completion at the Third-Floor Corridor of FAH UIN Jakarta.
The Arts and Cultural Festival provided a platform for members of the academic community to showcase their creativity while introducing the diversity of Indonesian arts and culture. Meanwhile, the karaoke competition was intended to create a more relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
The FAH UIN Jakarta Independence Celebration also served as a moment to reflect on the meaning of independence in academic life. The spirit of independence is manifested not only through celebration, but also through the commitment to continue creating, collaborating, preserving unity, and making positive contributions to the nation.
