Building Muslim Personal Integrity
Building Muslim Personal Integrity

South Tangerang, FAH Online News - Entering this blessed moment in the holy month, efforts to continue to improve oneself and strengthen one's character as a believer are very crucial to pay attention to together. Tuesday, (03/03/2026), Prof. Dr. Didin Saepudin, MA said that building a person's integrity and credibility is much more difficult and complicated than simply forming intellectual intelligence or IQ. Although parents can try to make their children smart by sending them to their favorite expensive educational institutions, this is not a guarantee that the child will have integrity or good morals after graduating. The current phenomenon shows that although the construction of mosques, taklim assemblies, and Islamic studies in various places and social media is growing rapidly, this is not necessarily directly proportional to the improvement of national morals. Forming integrity and good morals requires synergy and strong cooperation between various entities, from the school environment, education within the family, to the child's social environment, because building character cannot be done alone.

The main mission of the Prophet Muhammad SAW's sending to the world was to perfect noble morals, as emphasized in the hadith that a person's Islamic perfection is reflected in his ability to avoid unproductive things and provide a sense of safety for others through his words and hands. A true Muslim is one whose existence does not disturb or hurt others' hearts, either through behavior or words. This is very significant because there is nothing that weighs more heavily on a believer's scales on the Day of Judgment than the glory of his morals. Even though a person has strong and disciplined worship, the culmination of all this is real behavior or morals in everyday life.

Muslim personal integrity must be realized through noble qualities such as honesty and trust which are maintained even though there is an opportunity to commit fraud when not monitored. Apart from that, a Muslim is required to have patience, forgiveness, tawadu and qanaah in managing wealth to avoid waste. Forming morals requires a consistent process of habituation until it becomes a culture and values inherent in oneself. Therefore, in the month of Ramadan which is full of blessings, every Muslim individual is expected to be able to forge himself into an individual who has noble integrity, so that later he will get goodness in the final yaumil through husnul khuluk or good morals that have been lived.
