BSA Shares: HMPS BSA’s Simple Initiative to Spread Social Compassion
Pondok Ranji, FAH Online News. The Student Association of the Arabic Language and Literature Study Program (HMPS BSA) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, through its Environmental and Social Affairs Division (Lingsos), distributed 30 food packages to local residents along W. R. Supratman Street, in the Pondok Ranji area, on Thursday (October 1, 2026). The initiative, entitled BSA Berbagi (BSA Shares), served as an expression of students’ social concern for the surrounding community and was attended by all HMPS BSA members.
Aisyatun Najihah, Head of the Environmental and Social Affairs Department of HMPS BSA, explained that the location was chosen out of a desire to reach members of the community who needed attention and support. “Through BSA Berbagi, we hope to provide simple assistance that can benefit those in need. We also hope this activity will foster greater social awareness among students regarding the conditions of the surrounding community and remind us that compassion can begin with simple acts,” she said.
The activity began with a communal prayer, followed by the direct distribution of 30 food packages to residents along W. R. Supratman Street. The packages were distributed to several groups of beneficiaries, including online motorcycle taxi drivers, waste pickers, and elderly residents who were still working as street vendors. The event concluded with a group photo session for documentation purposes.
Through BSA Berbagi, HMPS BSA seeks to foster solidarity and social awareness among students. This initiative also represents a tangible contribution by students toward strengthening relationships with the community and developing greater sensitivity to the social conditions of the surrounding environment.
