2025 New Student Sharing Session with Library Science Study Programme
Ciputat, 30 August 2025 - FAH Online News, Improve Literacy, Unite Generations! After the end of a series of successful Introduction to Academic and Student Culture (PBAK) activities of the 2025 Library Science Study Programme, now comes a discussion session held specifically to strengthen the bond of new students with the study programme. The event was attended by outstanding students, alumni, representatives from student organisations, and a number of other inspiring speakers. Today's Sharing Session promoted intimacy with each other and focused on open dialogue between new students, outstanding students, and alumni of the Library Science Study Program who were present to greet and share their experiences. This activity aims to expand knowledge, build relationships, and ignite the enthusiasm of new students in exploring the world of lectures.
Reishika Aulia Ratu, an outstanding student of the Library Science Study Programme as the first speaker presented the material entitled "Studying in Library Science is Not Just About Books". Reishika dismissed the notion that Library Science is only about managing physical books and explained that this study programme covers a wide range of information management. In addition, it also explained about the broad career prospects and showed the great potential of Library Science graduates in various sectors. After Kak Reishika finished delivering her valuable material and experiences, the Sharing Session agenda continued with an inspiring discussion session with alumni of the Library Science Study Programme, Bang Nailul Author, S.IP., M.Hum., and Kak Nurcahya Ningsih, S.IP. who shared insights on the application of knowledge from their professional experiences. The presence of Bang Febri Nurul Huda, S.IP., M.M., as the Chairperson of the Alumni Association of the Library Science Department (IKAJIP) who delivered his warm welcome to new students, as well as expressing hope that all students of the Library Science Study Programme can continue to build togetherness.
In addition to inspirational sharing activities, this event was also made more enjoyable by the showing of videos introducing Autonomous Institutions (LO), such as PUSAKA which focuses on archiving, PUSTIKUM which manages library aspects, and ARTEFAH which displays artistic creativity through music, dance, and other works of art. The atmosphere also became more lively with interactive games involving new students, ending with a lively performance from ARTEFAH as a closing Sharing Session event to make this event an unforgettable moment for new students of class 2025.
This Sharing Session event succeeded in creating an atmosphere of sharing and discussion comfortably, and provided great benefits for new students in getting to know more about Library Science. New students are expected to utilise the insights and connections formed to hone their skills, expand relationships in a new environment, and foster motivation in undergoing future lecture activities. For all participants, this event strengthened collaboration, increased the sense of family, and united the generations of the Library Science Study Programme. This event will be the first step for new students to achieve brilliant achievements in the future!
