Voice and Influence Workshop: DEMA FAH UIN Jakarta Equips Students with Public Speaking Skills

South Tangerang, FAH Online News – The Student Executive Board (DEMA) of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, held the “Voice and Influence Workshop” on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. This activity was organized as an effort to improve students’ public speaking abilities and self-confidence in academic and organizational forums.

The workshop took place from 08.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. WIB and was attended enthusiastically by students throughout the entire series of events. The activity began with participant registration, the opening ceremony, the singing of Indonesia Raya and the UIN Jakarta Hymn, followed by remarks from Salman Al-Farisi as the chief organizer, Andita Aulia as Head of the Research and Development Department, and finally remarks by Ibnu Chajar as the Chairman of DEMA of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities.

The workshop featured Ahmad Anta Rahmatullah as the main speaker. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Sharia and Law at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta from the class of 2022 who completed his studies in 2026. Besides being active in academics, Ahmad Anta is also known as a professional Master of Ceremony (MC) and motivator.

The workshop was divided into two presentation sessions delivered directly by Ahmad Anta Rahmatullah. In both the first and second sessions, participants received material on the fundamentals of public speaking, techniques for delivering ideas, and strategies for building effective communication in front of an audience.

The activity continued with a post-test led by the MC. The post-test materials covered topics that had previously been presented by the speaker, and the participants enthusiastically answered the questions.

In addition to the presentations, the workshop also included an interactive discussion and question-and-answer session. The speaker directly encouraged participants to actively engage in the forum atmosphere through various simulations and public speaking practices. Participants’ enthusiasm was evident through their active involvement in asking questions, expressing opinions, and participating until the end of the workshop.

The “Voice and Influence” Workshop concluded with a joint prayer and documentation session at 12.00 p.m. WIB. Through this activity, students are expected to improve their communication skills, build self-confidence, and become better prepared to express ideas in public spaces and organizational environments.
