FAH plays a significant role in facilitating the learning process and promoting student well-being. A variety of learning resources are available to facilitate the learning process, including the library, language laboratory, computer laboratory, online database, and research center. Moreover, a range of additional support services are available, including academic advisors, academic counselors, a sexual abuse victim coordinator, and health services. These services are designed to promote students' academic well-being and success. The provision of student organizations and financial support represents a further crucial aspect of the comprehensive support framework designed to facilitate student development.
In 2017, FAH relocated to a new facility on Campus 1. The institution is situated at 17B Jalan Tarumanegara, Pisangan. The building has an area of 10,187 m², comprising 33 classrooms equipped with air conditioning and projectors, the dean's office, the administrative office, the head of the study program office, lecturer rooms, and an auditorium. The building is equipped with lifts and stairs to facilitate mobility. A Wi-Fi connection is available for the purpose of maintaining an internet connection. Other facilities include drinking water taps, water dispensers, and worship spaces that include mushallas and a mosque, which contribute to students' learning convenience.
UIN Library
Located at campus one, the UIN Library building consists of 11 floors. The library serves from 08.30 AM -16.00 PM every Monday to Thursday, while on Friday the service is open from 08.30 AM -16.30 PM. In addition to reading and lending services, the library also provides self-study rooms and discussion rooms for students. UIN Jakarta Library houses 183,468 copies of books with 46,522 titles. The library can also be accessed through OPAC. The UIN Library also subscribes to more than 20 e-resources and international electronic journals.
The library is currently engaged in a series of supplementary initiatives, including the repair of structural defects on the ninth floor, the restoration of water sources and associated machinery, the refurbishment of the library lobby, and the development of an integrated library management system. In 2024, the library will prioritize enhancements to the quality and quantity of its infrastructure and facilities, the sophistication of its systems and services, the proficiency of its users (students and faculty) and librarians, and the financial resources allocated to its operations.
FAH Library
The Prof. Dr. Nurcholish Madjid Library is situated within the FAH area. The library is named in honor of one of the most distinguished scholars associated with FAH. A portion of the collection was donated by his family. The library strives to provide a comprehensive array of reference materials in both general and Islamic fields, catering to academic and scientific research needs. Its collection encompasses 16,860 copies of 11,617 titles. Additionally, the library offers a plagiarism-detection service via Turnitin. To utilize this service, students are encouraged to contact the library staff. .
Graduate School Library
The Graduate School library is available to postgraduate students, including those at MIHC. The library collection includes 664 titles of dissertations and 1,406 titles of theses, in addition to other collections. The language laboratory is an educational facility dedicated to the enhancement and development of students' linguistic abilities. The facility boasts 30 computers equipped with language learning software, which is designed to assist students in developing their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities in the language they are studying.
In the future, the language laboratory will be upgraded with the latest technology, including the most recent advances in both hardware and software. This initiative aims to facilitate student learning activities, particularly those involving practical work, by ensuring the technology employed is always aligned with the latest developments.
The Integrated Laboratory Centre
It serves as a shared laboratory facility for all academic programmes at UIN Jakarta. The laboratory provides students from religious, social, and science-technology programs with access to laboratory equipment. Furthermore, the laboratory is integrated into the learning process, experimentation, and community service.
Day Care Laboratory Centre
The Day Care Laboratory Centre offers professional services with the objective of fostering the moral, physical, cognitive, emotional, creative, independent, and responsible development of children. Moreover, the day care serves as a laboratory center for students at UIN Jakarta pursuing studies in early childhood education
Laboratory School
The Laboratory School is a facility available at UIN Jakarta that can be utilized by various academic departments. UIN Jakarta has numerous laboratory schools, including TK Ketilang, Madrasah Pembangunan, and Triguna High School. These facilities afford students and lecturers the opportunity to engage in learning and research activities related to education, while also offering prospective teachers a valuable chance to gain hands-on experience.
Language Development Centre
The Language Development Centre at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta offers instruction and advancement of Indonesian, English, and other pertinent foreign languages, including Arabic and French. In addition to its instructional offerings, the Language Development Centre provides a range of services related to language assessment and certification, including TOEFL, TOAFL, and BIPA testing, as well as document translation.
Primary Health Care: Primary Clinic and Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital
Students at UIN Jakarta are entitled to utilize the health services offered by the university's Primary Clinic and Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital (R.S. Syahid). The Primary Clinic is situated at Jalan Tarumanegara, South Tangerang. It is the inaugural health facility to collaborate with BPJS Health. The clinic is prepared to provide both inpatient and outpatient care to the UIN Jakarta academic community. Students are afforded the opportunity to utilize the services of general practitioners for consultation purposes. In the event that a student requires a referral for health services, they may proceed to Syahid Hospital.
Syahid Hospital was established in 1962. The facility is situated on an area of approximately 6,000 square meters. The hospital is equipped with a range of facilities and infrastructure, including a six-storey building, inpatient rooms, an emergency room, a mortuary, and operating theatres. Additionally, the hospital is equipped with laboratories, X-ray machines, ECG equipment, ultrasound technology, physiotherapy facilities, pharmacies, optical services, and treadmills. Students in possession of an active student card are permitted direct access to the Primary Clinic and RS Syahid for consultation regarding their health concerns. Over the following five-year period (2024-2029), the hospital will concentrate its efforts on a number of key areas with a view to achieving sustainable growth and improvement. These are: The objective is to increase visits through improvements in service quality and the implementation of effective promotional strategies to reach a larger patient population. Medical services will be developed by significantly expanding the range of available services, including the introduction of new technologies, the expansion of specialised services, and improvements to existing services. The objective is to guarantee that the hospital remains at the vanguard of medical service provision. The quality of services will be enhanced through evidence-based approaches that improve patient satisfaction and health outcomes. Medical personnel will be empowered to deliver optimal care through competence-building initiatives. Investments will be made in the health of the hospital's assets, ensuring that all facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards and that the environment is safe and comfortable for patients and staff.
Psychology Service Centre
The Psychology Service Centre (PSC) for Students on campus provides individual consultation, group therapy, mental well-being workshops, and online resources. These services aim to help students develop coping skills, understand their emotions, and build better mental well-being. For students in need, these services can also refer to other mental health professionals or assist in crisis situations. Some of the services available at PSC include individual consultations, aptitude interest tests, psychological assessments, competency assessments (Assessment Centre), and training.
Over the next five years, PSC is committed to implementing a number of development initiatives to improve service quality. These initiatives include: Enhancing the commitment to helping: PSC will explore new and more effective ways to serve the public interest with greater responsiveness and empathy.
Innovating: PSC will invest in research and development to create test tools that are more adaptive and relevant to the needs of diverse clients, covering a wide range of demographics and psychological backgrounds.
Professionalising services: PSC will maintain its commitment to providing high-quality services at affordable fees. Continuous development of staff competencies and improvement of service processes will be an integral part of this strategy.
With these efforts, PSC hopes to become a centre for psychological services that is increasingly able to provide high-quality services to the wider community by 2029.
Sexual Assault Complaint Centre
The following case study examines the issue of sexual assault under the PSGA at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta. This service is designated "Ertri," an abbreviation of "Rumah Ramah Rahmah." Sexual assault complaint centers are distributed across each faculty and are overseen by the DEMA-F. The PSGA comprises a Rumah Ramah Rahmah Task Force, which is responsible for establishing and maintaining networks with UIN DEMA, faculties, and the academic community. The task force was established in June 2023 and is currently engaged in the process of developing a comprehensive guide for the service. While the precise number of complaints is not yet available, this service is nevertheless accessible to students.
Over the next five years (2024-2029), PSGA is expected to implement a series of important initiatives with the objective of advancing gender studies and child protection. The initiatives include the following:
- The establishment of a Sexual Violence Prevention Task Force to address the issue of sexual violence.
- The strengthening of cooperation with various partners focusing on gender and child issues to have a wider impact on society.
- The establishment of integrated services in each faculty to ensure that everyone in the university is involved and understands the importance of gender and child protection issues.
- The reviving of the Daycare as a form of direct support to the university community, especially for members who have childcare responsibilities.
- The intensifying of the socialization and implementation of the Sexual Violence Law to raise awareness of the issue.
It is the intention of PSGA to make a greater contribution to the understanding and protection of gender and child issues within the university and the wider community through the implementation of this development plan.
Centre for Religious Moderation and Integration of Sciences (CRMIS)
The Centre for Religious Moderation and Integration of Sciences (CRISM) at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta is accessible to students and serves to educate them on related values. The centre contributes to strengthening the values of modernity and inclusiveness for students and provides services related to religious moderation. CRISM launched in Ciputat by the Rector and leaders of UIN Jakarta aims to promote a tolerant, respectful, and helpful religious life for students. The centre also offers religious moderation-based understanding, research, and advocacy programmes that can be accessed by students as an effort to strengthen understanding and tolerant religious patterns and build compassion between fellow religious communities in Indonesia.
Legal Services Centre
The Legal Aid Service Centre on campus serves as the frontline in student legal services, offering protection, consultation, and representation in court if needed. In addition, the centre serves as a source of legal education through seminars, workshops, and online resources, as well as an advocate, fighting for student rights. For those interested in law, the centre is also a practical place to learn and develop skills. Therefore, students should not hesitate to seek help from this centre, which aims to be a guide and guardian in the legal world.
Career Counseling Services
Career counselling services at the Career Centre are available to students. This service is one of the valuable assets in their educational and career journey. Through this service, students receive guidance and support in understanding their strengths, interests, and career goals. It can be in the form of individual guidance, workshops on resume writing and job interviews, to job search and internship events. Career counselling services also provide opportunities for students to interact with industry professionals and successful alumni, allowing them to network and get a better idea of their career options. The University's Social Service Organisation
UIN Jakarta's Social Trust Fund (STF) is an institution dedicated to carrying out philanthropic activities in order to create a life filled with social justice in the university environment. By collecting and managing social funds in a transparent and accountable manner, STF endeavours to ensure that the funds are put to good use for the right purposes, especially for the academic community who needs quick assistance related to social services. In line with this, STF also endeavours to provide access to education and welfare to disadvantaged communities, with the aim of closing the education and welfare gap that exists in society. STF is also dedicated to supporting humanitarian missions that are inclusive, long-term, and sustainable development. As part of this commitment, STF promotes equality and diversity, recognizing the importance of valuing differences and accepting all individuals.
As a manifestation of its mission, STF encourages the strengthening of socially equitable philanthropic practices through research and empowerment. Through research, STF seeks to find new and more effective solutions to provide help and support to those in need. Through empowerment, STF helps individuals and communities to strengthen their own capabilities and improve their quality of life. The student center is equipped with facilities that can be utilized for theatrical performances, musical performances, and other events. Each faculty building at UIN Jakarta also contains a theater room with a seating capacity of approximately 200 individuals, equipped with art and music facilities. Moreover, UIN Jakarta offers its academic community the chance to demonstrate their artistic abilities.
Sports and Arts Facilities
UIN Jakarta offers a plethora of athletic and artistic facilities to encourage its students to maintain an active lifestyle. The Syahida Gym is furnished with contemporary fitness apparatus for the cultivation of strength and endurance. Al-Insaniyyah Mosque
Spirituality constitutes an integral aspect of the student experience. The university and its constituent faculties provide students with access to mosques for the purpose of engaging in religious activities. There are four mosques located on campus: the Fathullah Mosque, the al- Jami'ah Mosque, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Mosque, and the al-Insaniyyah Mosque of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
Ma’had Al-Jami’ah Student Dormitory
The student dormitories at UIN Jakarta are provided with the objective of supporting the success and welfare of students, as well as instilling piety in the campus environment. The dormitories are managed by the Ma'had Al-Jami'ah Unit and comprise five buildings, with one building designated for male students and another for female students. The majority of residents in the dormitories are exceptional students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have been awarded scholarships by state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and the BIDIKMISI program. The residents receive comprehensive guidance from a range of academic and administrative personnel, including Kyai, Deputy Kyai, Supervising Lecturers, Musyrif, and the Dormitory Board of Trustees.
