South Tangerang, FAH Online News – The Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has successfully carried out the Socialization and Promotion (SOSPROM) activity to introduce undergraduate study programs (S1) to students and students in several educational institutions and Islamic boarding schools. The activity, which took place on October 8-10, 2024 in Surabaya, carried the theme "Increasing New Students of Undergraduate Study Programs in the Faculty of Adab and Humanities through Cooperation and Talent Scouting Paths." SOSPROM 2024 began with a visit to MAN-PK 4 Denanyar Jombang which is under the auspices of the Mamba'ul Ma'arif Deanyar Jombang Islamic Boarding School. The group was received directly by the Principal Moh. Ilyas, Lc., M.M.Pd and the 12th grade students. The trip continued the next day to the Al Amanah Bilingual Islamic High School in Sidoarjo, and was received directly by the Caretaker of the Al-Amanah Islamic Boarding School, namely KH. Nurcholis Misbah and Mrs. Nyai Hj. Rifa'atul Mahmudah along with the Principal and teachers as well as the students of the Islamic High School. On the third day, the FAH group returned to Jombang, namely to the Darul Ulum Rejoso Islamic Boarding School, namely to the Darul Ulum Superior Islamic High School in Jombang. The FAH group was also received directly by the Caretaker of the Boarding School, Romo KH. Cholil Dahlan along with the Principal and the asatidz. This activity aims to improve students' understanding of the study programs offered at FAH, such as the History of Islamic Civilization (SPI), English Literature (SASING), and Library Science (IP), Arabic Language and Literature (BSA) & Tarjamah study programs so that they can become the main choice when continuing their education to college.

Dr. Hj. Siti Amsariah, M.Ag, Vice Dean II of FAH UIN Jakarta, led a team of nine people, including the head and secretary of the study program and supporting staff. The heads of the study programs who also attended were Dr. Zakiya Darojat, M.A (Head of SPI Study Program), Nurul Azizah, M.Hum (Secretary of SPI Study Program), Inayatul Chusna, M.Hum (Head of SASING Study Program), M. Agus Suriadi, M.Hum (Secretary of SASING Study Program), Siti Maryam, S.Ag, M.Hum (Head of IP Study Program), and Hikmah Irfaniah, M.Hum (Secretary of IP Study Program). This activity also involved educators Iffah Zahriyani and Rahmat Hidayat, S.Kom.

In her speech, Dr. Siti Amsariah conveyed the meaning of the proverb: "People who love knowledge, should not just stay silent. There are people who love knowledge and manners, so they are willing to leave their homeland and hometown to find a replacement." She also emphasized the importance of friendship and seeking blessings from the teachers and kyai at the pondok.

In her presentation, Dr. Siti Amsariah explained that FAH UIN Jakarta provides several pathways for accepting new students, including Talent Scouting and cooperation with educational institutions. Through Talent Scouting, FAH selects prospective students who have special talents or achievements in various fields, such as sports, arts, and translation. In addition, a collaboration pathway was built to direct students from schools and Islamic boarding schools to continue their studies at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah.

This activity was greeted with high enthusiasm by the principal, students, and santri at each location. They actively participated in the interactive question and answer session, showing great interest in the study programs offered.

With the implementation of SOSPROM 2024, the Faculty of Adab and Humanities UIN Syarif Hidayatullah hopes to attract more qualified and talented new prospective students, as well as expand the reach of cooperation with various educational institutions throughout Indonesia.
