PPPK Candidate FAH UIN Jakarta Preserves Nature Through Tree Planting Action

South Tangerang, FAH Online News – Monday, 19 May 2025 Candidates for Government Employees with Employment Agreements (CPPPK) Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) took part in the simultaneous tree planting movement carried out within the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta. This activity is part of national efforts to strengthen ecology and preserve the environment in line with ecotheological values, as is a major concern in the policies of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia.
This movement refers to the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia Number P-1111/SJ/B.II/KP.00.1/05/2025 dated 9 May 2025. In the letter, it was emphasized that all PPPK candidates who had been accepted into their respective work units were required to plant tree seeds in their work environment. This activity is an integral part of the Asta Protas program of the Ministry of Religion Impact, especially the fifth pillar which focuses on strengthening ecotheology.
The implementation of tree planting activities within the Faculty of Adab and Humanities is centered in the area around the FAH building and takes place simultaneously with all work units under the auspices of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. The atmosphere of the activity was full of enthusiasm, with active participation from PPPK candidates, faculty leaders, as well as a number of academics who were also present at the activity.
This movement is in line with the Green Campus initiative which is a vision of sustainability for the UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta campus. The aim is to create a greener, healthier, more sustainable academic environment and support an environmentally friendly learning process. Through this movement, the campus is not only a center of science, but also a space for direct learning about the importance of maintaining the balance of nature and the environment.

More than just a symbolic activity, planting this tree reflects a real form of commitment and concern for the sustainability of the ecosystem and the quality of life for the future. The Faculty of Adab and Humanities shows its determination to actively contribute to the environmental conservation agenda, as well as strengthen the understanding and application of ecotheological values in the academic environment and in the social life of society.
It is hoped that this activity will not stop at just one momentum, but will be the beginning of an ongoing movement involving all elements of the campus to care more about the environment. In this way, the culture of loving and protecting nature can continue to grow and become part of the character of the UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta academic community.
Finally, through this movement, the Faculty of Adab and Humanities hopes to create a campus that is beautiful, productive and in line with sustainability principles. It is hoped that this spirit of greening will continue to burn and inspire all elements of campus to build a greener and more empowered future. (SN)
